Question about 2008 Honda NT700V Deauville

1 Answer

Riding position I get shoulder ache when riding and feel that this is due to too low handlebar height. Is there any way the handlebars can be raised? Does the vibration on the handlebars decrease with high useage / km. My NT700V has done 1200km. I always thought Honda engineering was top level.

I agree, higher handlebars will keep you relaxed on a long ride, depending on the terrain and the riding style.

but to have an idea on what handle bars risers to get, here are the OEMs

I want to adjust my handlebars from mountain biking position to street riding. How do I do that?

One man's road position is another man's mountain. Which DIRECTION do you wish to go with them?

Depending on its current orientation and deviation from 90 degrees (known as rise) the stem could simply be flipped to change the height.

Back ache, can handlebars be raised? - How?

The stem can only raised safely within the steerer tube end to a line etched on its quill. There are stem extenders or even fixed-angle higher stems.

The sccret to getting a quill stem to move is to loosen the center (vertical bolt a few turns and then rap it down with a mallet to unseat the expander wedge inside the steerer tube.

It's possible your frame is sized improperly for you and your preferred riding position.

I would recommend you go to a real Bicycle Shop for those assessments.

Handlebar hight raise

you might want to try some Arrow Fly Taper bars. They work with the stock mounts and should add a couple of inches to the height of the bars. They are really nice to ride with and are alot less expensive that Protapers.
