Question about 2001 Harley Davidson FXST Softail Standard
I bought this dirt bike off of someone that ran it 50:1. ever sence i changed it to 32:1 then to 40:1 my bike wont ever start. i have to changed the spark plug to get it to start. ill run it for a while and it will start right back up but if i wait any longer than a half hour it wont start back up. the plug is always a little black. this sucks. what can i do
50:1 is leaner than the 40:1 and 32:1 is very rich.
If your bike has been run with a 50:1 mix I would do a compression check. It needs to be at least 100psi to run.40:1 is the recomended mix on most 2strokes.
