Question about 1972 Yamaha XS2

Head and tail light stopped working

I have a 1979 Yamaha GT 80 that was working great but when I went to drive it home the head and tail light stopped working. They typically work fine with no battery but don't work even with a charged battery. Is there a fuse designated to running the lights from the engine or something like that? Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks. Yeah, I opened it up and there were 2 fuses but only one connection. I changed the one that was in the reserve slot? But still no juice. Does it need 2 fuses? Is there something else that could have blown?

Yes, there should be a fuse box under your seat in the battery compartment.

My head lights and tail light are not working on my 2008 Yamaha royal star deluxe

Hi, you have a few things that could be at fault, check the wiring at the battery, then check and see if the bulbs have blown, if they have, check that the wires on the voltage regulator make sure they are not loose or don't have dirty connections, then check the fuses, then check if the relay if you have one is working, then check the light switch itself. you have a lot to check just take your time and good luck.
