I have the same problem with my 2002 VS 1400. Were you able to find out how to bleed the clutch? I would really like to hear if you were able to find out anything.
    Thanks

One the left-hand side of the bike (facing forward), there is cover plate just ahead of the drive shaft. Remove that cover (mine has 8mm bolts). The bleeder valve is under this cover. Go to an auto parts store and get a "one man bleeder kit" or if you have some plastic tubing that will fit over the valve, you can use that and a clean jar. Follow the instructions on the bleeder kit, or if you're using the jar and tubing, fill the jar about a quarter of the way with break fluid (use DOT4, but never DOT5!). Take the cover off the master cylinder up at the handlebars, place the tube over the end of the bleed valve (after loosening it a turn or two. Place the other end of the tube down in the break fluid in the jar. Work the clutch lever until you stop getting bubbles in the jar. Be sure to keep the fluid level up in the reservoir. Tighten the bleeder valve, remove the tubing, top off the fluid and replace the covers.

Be careful not to get brake fluid on anything. It will eat paint and mess up other things.

Follow the hydraulic "clutch"hose(looks similar to the front brake hose)down to the drive belt,or chain side of the motor.
at the end you will see the "hook-up"
near it will be a bleeder screw with a small hole in the middle.
next take off the cap on the resevoir for your clutch on the handle bars.
loosten the bleeder screw while pulling in the lever.
shut bleeder before letting up the lever.

--repete(having plenty of specified fluid on hand)till fluid comes out of bleeder "clean"or"clear"with NO air bubbles.

Henk, Have you EVER bled any brake fluid before? If not,This is not the best place to start.I respectfully suggest taking your bike to the nearest Suzuki shop for a full asessment of your bike.Let them change out the fluids if they feel this will remedy your problem. Then maybe you can get some riding in this year.

I have a 1999 VS1400 Intruder clutch is slipping when I accelerate after it is in gear. If I need to replace the clutch, any helpful tips?

Ya know what I had the same problem and I changed the clutch discs and plates ,problem still persisted.
Replaced the master cyl piston and such ,problem still persists.Took apart the slave cyl and now ordered the kit for that and noticed that the clave cyl had a film of dirt and rubber on the side wall I think that this comes from lack of service mainly changing of fluids. The brakes ,front and back are next for me.
Remember to be patient when bleeding air.Try opening the resivoir cap pull clutch handle ,tie it off and walk away for 2 days .worked for me after a test of my patients for 3 daysm

Replacing the Brake Fluid on the suzuki intruder

You may have a blocked clutch hose or a restricted outlet/leaking piston valve in the master cylinder. Remove the hose entirely and blow through it with compressed air. Good air flow means good hose. Now try the master cylinder (clutch lever), you should get a good flow of fluid with one press. If it barely releases anything, tear the cylinder down and check the outlet area and piston valving. It may need a rebuild kit or just replace the cylinder. Once you get the cylinder working, put the hose back and new fluid in the cylinder. work the lever a number of times, then bleed the system.

1999 1400 intruder does'nt have any pressure when engaged.

Maybe, and maybe not. If it is a problem with the master cylinder, then it could be bleeding back into the reservoir.

If it will not pump up and pressurize, and there are no signs of a leak, then you need to look at the master cylinder.
