The location of the speedo sensor is on the top of the gearbox case, behind the rear cylinder. Thier speedo's are electronic and not cable driven, so are not driven off the front wheel.

I hope this helps..

Speed is usually measured by the rotation of the front tire. Your sensor unit should be located on your front tire. You should be able to unbolt two bolts and follow the wire up to where it plugs in. Probably on the right hand side next to your seat. Must remove plastic covers off your bike. You might also have to remove your front tire.. worst case scenerio. Remove the old sensor and reverse the process to install the new one. If you replace the entire system the other part is probably under the plastic seat cowl and behind your brake light attached to the subframe of your seat.

My speedo stop working and fi light comes on . I replace the map sensor,I still have the promblem.

Hi, Herbert the vast majority of speedometer issues is caused by the speed sensor and or the wiring, a faulty speedometer sensor and or connection will automatically interrupt proper turn signal and flasher operation. On Sportsters the sensor is located on top of the engine case behind the rear cylinder, on big twins, it's located on the right side of the transmission case between the starter end cap and the transmission top cover. Remove the bolt/***** that secures the sensor and lift the sensor out of the case. Inspect it for damage and contamination, if there appears to be no damage wipe the end of the sensor clean and reinstall, you can go for a short quick test ride to see if the speedo is working. If the issue still exists grab your test light and unplug the harness connector from the sensor, check for power (red wire) and ground (black wire) continuity coming from the speedo, there is also the connector that plugs into the speedometer, also, look for corroded, broken or loose pin/sockets. If everything checks out OK then replace the speed sensor. Good luck and have a nice day

I need to check Vehicle Speed 1 to sort out a speedo problem, but do not know where the 2 wires lead to. This for a Subaru 1997 Outback

I assume you're referring to the Speed Sensor, and the 2 wires coming from the Speed Sensor? Is your speedometer totally inop, or is it giving improper, or sporadic indications? I'm not familiar with Subaru, but wiring for speed sensors are generally the same for most 96 and newer vehicles. That 2-wire harness typically runs to a disconnect... to the PCM... maybe another disconnect... speedometer. If you have access to schematics, or wiring diagrams, you would need to obtain a few plug and pin numbers, locate the components, then trace a few wires. I'd suggest first running a diagnostic in order to obtain any possible fault codes, and use that as a good starting point.

I have a 2000 fxst--when i start the bike and rev it my mileage indicator will go out and the check engine indicator comes on. let it idle and everything is good. also speedo will come and go.

2 things, bad speedo or your speed sensor picked up some metal. Or both. The sensor is located on the right side on the trans.Pull one allen bolt and GENTLY pry the sensor out. Wipe off the metal shaving. The speed sensor is MAGNETICALLY triggered, so it picks up metal from the trans and shorts out. Possible bad wiring connection somewhere too.

My speedo will not register kilometers.

If this happened just after resetting, then the speedo gauge on instrument cluster is probably faulty.

When this problem happens you start checking the speed sender, then undo instrument cluster and check speed sender connector and voltages to instruments. If wiring are ok, then you replace the gauge.
In your case it is most likely the gauge.

1995 Buick Lesabre Speedo inop

It may be a faulty speedometer with a short inside, or a short on speedometer wirings or connector.

Whenever car vibration cause the wiring to short, there you lose speedometer and trans functionality.

You need to access the speedometer connector and wirings to
instrument panel to fix this.

Electric Diagram for Kenmore Model 790

Has the oven run out of control or gotten too hot? The 790 series is made by Frigidaire and those fault codes are F0 to F8. F2 indicates the temperature sensor is reading too hot. Now with the double oven models, some manufactures add an extra digit to the fault codes to indicate which oven created the fault.

Your most likely fix is to replace the temperature sensor. The most probable locations for the wiring diagram is taped inside the bottom drawer, on the back or under side of the oven, or behind one of the panels on the back of the oven. This might tell you the room temperature resistance for the temperature sensor so you can test it with an ohmmeter and be sure that it is faulty. Try Appliance Parts Pros for replacement sensors.

Speedometer erratic/intermittent

I don't know what is causing this problem, but I know phil140701's answer is completely wrong on two counts. First, 740 Volvos starting at least in 1986 have electronic speedometers and no cable. There is an electronic sensor on the differential which sends a signal to the speedometer cluster. Second, if it were strictly mechanical with a cable then the voltage regulator could have no effect on it at all.
