Try taking the carbs off, removing the fuel bowl and taking out the pilot jet. Its a smaller jet right in front of the main jet, you may need to grind a screwdriver down to get to it unless you have a very small one. Chances are your pilots are plugged. Same thing was wrong with my 99 Z440 both pilots were gummed up. Good luck!

Hi and welcome to FixYa,

I am not familiar with Arctic Cats. However, with your indulgence, may I share a few ideas:

  • if wetting the plugs with fuel would make the engine run, then fuel is not drawn into the combustion chamber. This may be cause by poor vacuum at the intake side;
  • clogged/blocked jets;
  • if the engine is a two stroke, there may be oil in the combustion chamber or too much in the bowl of the carb;
  • you may want to also drain the carbs;
  • check for presence of contaminants in the fuel specially water.
Just a start, do postback how things turned up or should you need additional information. Good luck and Thank you for using FixYa.

I have a 225 that has spark and good comp but wont start the man said it could be fule pump ?

Compression, fuel, timing and spark and a sufficient cranking speed are all required for an engine to start. Each should be checked through systematically but check the immobiliser first.

90 cutlas, won't go over 25 hase new wires fule filter wire fule pump and fule senser

What engine size? The 2.8 had a problem with the torque converter clutch solenoid sticking and causing a stall but no trouble with it once vehicle in motion. You may have a plugged catalytic converter in the exhaust system causing lack of power/speed during acceleration. An exhaust back pressure test will determine if this is your problem. You can remove the oxygen sensor and drive the car ( it will be loud ) to see if the vehicle runs any better. If it does, the exhaust could be plugged

I have an 84 K100 that will not start. The bike has set for 1 to 2 years with the same gas. The bike was my brothers. I drained the gas from it and replaced with new gas. The bike will start and run as...

drain out all of the old gas first, put in fresh fule fully charge battery and retry starting her up, if no luck starting unclip fule pipe from injector rain and cranck motor over if fule spills the fule pump is working ok, pull off ecu plug and spray with wd40 all plugs and refit check spark do not let spark plug hand loos this must stay earthed or it can wreck the ecu if motor starts up, when it starts up some injuctor cleaner in fule tank and run engine up

19 hp kawasaki mower motor that dies after operating 45 minutes

well its back to the fule flow,,,i thing the fule lines and carb are blocked up and needs a strip down and a good clean up of all the jets and flote bole this sounds like fule shortage,,,if the engine is only just turning and you try to put it in gear so the cutters start to turn it loads the engine up and it stops!
you say pulling the choke out get it going!!!!! then its short of fule ,,,right!

Engine starts runs rough,then quits before you can put a load on generator,starts with half chock,will not run without half chock,and even half choke runs rough,and then quits

this is down to fule shortage strip card and all fule pipes clean the tank on off tap and any filters fitted also check all the jets inside the carberetor blow out with comprest air,,,dont go pokeing wire into any jets!! that could wreck the jet, but its all down to fule shortage

The engine will not run unless you pour gas in the carb. It ran before i charged the fuel line which was rotted off. It is 2 cycle blower vacuum and i do not have the model nomber handy

its that new fule line you put in,,,its not letting any fule down to the carb you have proved there is nothing wrong with the engine, by tipping fule into the carb,,,,
have another go at fitting the new fule line,,, rember to put on the fule filter on the end that gos inside the fule tank if its not on it the pipe will not lay in the fule tank right and wont pick up any fule out the tank,,,
i bet thats were you went wrong?

Fuel in the carb next to air screw

on old carbs they have mechanical fule pump. you may need to look into a new one or try pumping the gas a few times while turning it over.

and it means theres fule in the bottem of the carb.... the carb is an atomization chamber for fule. if you have to much fule (ie to rich) your going to have liquid fule at the bottem of the carb. this is bad, you need to lean out the carb bar turning the idle screws the right (12 o-clock to 9 o-clock...) just a bit at a time. and play with it while it's at idle to what you think is a good idea. you can hear it trust me just play around with it.

also look at the throttle advansment lever (it shoot gas in at wide open throttle as to not stall) its conected to your throttle cable.

AND YES IT IS.... your fule will evaporate and fast if don't.
