do you mean the service light or the mil (engine management light? ) you can get a obd2 code reader if its the mil light but be sure to get one that is for VAG codes, if its a vw or one the reads eobd and *** codes for lexus (ebay from £23 )
if its a service light you need not worry too much but you can also get the service reset tool on line

please state year as i will need to know if tis a common rail or injector pump type of engine ,if it common rail then loose the silly plastic cover on top of the engine as if it is what i suspect then this cover is making engine hot and the coils on the injectors are overheating ,also i think no 4 injector has the sensor on it that times all the others in and this could be the one thats faulty, these injectors are expensive and the lead one is about 500 euros

You could possibly have air in your cooling system. If the dash gauge temperature sensor does not have coolant flowing past it, it will give a false temperature reading while your engine is actually overheating. If you recently drained and refilled your cooling system, you might need to bleed the air out of that system. If you didn't drain it recently, you might have a leak that's letting out coolant and letting in air.
