Question about 2003 Harley Davidson FLSTC Heritage Classic
I am having a problem with the charging system .The alternator is putting out the necessary a.c voltage and increases when the rpm goes up .I checked this with a digital vom meter. The voltage coming out of the regulator increases form 12.4 to 12.6 is this correct. or should it be higher to maintain the battery ?
No, the minimum acceptable charging voltage is 13.2. Check the charging current. if is more than about 15 amps you have a big draw on the system. Brake lights stuck on? Otherwise the regulator is bad.

I had this problem on my ultra clasic. I found a ground wire loose. you will have to locate all ground wires. and don,t frget the one on the battery.
