First off, check Q655,EP98,and D756. If they all check good it may take a service manual to troubleshoot this set which is based on the Hitachi DP-05 chassis and is similar to their model 53FDX01B.

Sony 3lcd wega engine tv screen turns black, power/standby button blinks 45 times, then screen goes back on. This repeats over and over again. Do you know what's wrong with my tv? Thanks.

First check your tv if it has standby power. if it has standby power please do count the number of blinks of red led. (it is on a sequence) so that we can walk through the steps and procedure to get rid of the trouble. if theres no stanby power, its probably the power supply. please do check busted fuse and replace with same ratings.

Led red tv

This is a general answer on how to approach this problem:

I see so many here with no sound/no picture issues:

ISSUES:

1. IF sound main fuse/s are good.
2. If no power or standby check main fuse, standby power supply and any signs of damage you can see---burnt parts etc.
3. almost all these sets the troubleshooting involves checking voltages on the main power board to narrow down the problem.
4. Be safe and if you do not know what you are doing don't open the set.

Answers to issues:

1. RE:fuses---if a blown fuse is found get a good replacement(not the generic ones like Radio Shack). Many fuses are special even aside from amperage--Don't put a higher rated amperage fuse in the set for any reason.

2. RE: power supply in set: if total dead aside from main fuse the set uses a standby power supply that runs 7/24 and a main supply (some are combined and some not.

Here aside from checking fuses you want to examine all the filter caps on the power/standby to see if any are puffed up or buldged up in some fashion--I attach a photo of a good one---top should be silver metal and PERFECTLY flat and have no brown material coming out on top or bottom.

What happens in the standby area is they use caps with too low a voltage rating (saves money) which causes them to fail in a year or two---the standby runs 7/24 and the heat dries out the caps and they fail.

3. Trouble shooting consists of the above and then at some point you have to buy and try a board to see if it fixes it or not.

4. Safety first--no TV set is worth getting injured or even killed over. If set is opened at least look for puffed up and bad caps like in this photo.

I am unable to adjust the red color in the convergence adjustment on my IQC50H94W 2000 Zenith 50". From everything I read I believe I need to replace my Convergence IC Chips, however I am not 100%...

Your convergence has failed and needs to be repaired. Once quick test is to goto your convergence menu and see if you can adjust red and blue. If not its has failed and needs to be fixed. You can call in a repair shop or you can get the parts and instructions from www.TvRepairKits.com and do the repair yourself. Its a fairly easy DIY fix.

360 won't power up power supply good is there a fuse

They dont have a fuse in side them , it could be dry solder joints on the main pcb where the power plug goes into the xbox, make sure you try your power supply on another xbox as well as your xbox on another power supply. Also check the led on the power supply is green when its running, if the light is orange or red(whislt running, the light will be orange when in standby) .If your led on the power supply is red , you have a faulty power supply. Good Luck.

No stanby LED would indicate a power supply problem. check the main fuse and the 4 large diodes next to the fuse. one is common to short out and blow the fuse. i think D603

Hope this helps
