Hello,
Did you get an engine light? If so--what was the code.
The code will tell you what is wrong - sounds like a shifting solenoid (the code will tell you what one - replace the solenoid ($250-$500).

the trans has to get to operating temp before it starts to shift normal.

the computer is bad and also these cars are known for the insturment clusters to go bad along with the computer. get them both fixed and it will solve your problem.
