2006 kawasaki Ninja ZX14 Logo

My 2006 ZX14 headlights and indicators doesnt work when I start my bike. The indicator and headlight lights on the cluster go on as soon as I start the bike and there is a buzzing noise at one of the relays. I checked the relays, fine.

The only things I did on the bike is a Full Arata Exhaust system, Stage 3 Power Commander and I took out the top butterfly's. Other than that, stock standard.

It is a bad ground connection - I had exact same issue a few years back , so long I can't tell you which one it is but I found the answer on one of thezx14 forums. This is the problem.

SOURCE: headlights do not come on once the bike is started

I had the same problem a year ago. Turned out to be a little more complecated after time. It started with the relays then I started keeping track of voltage. This is after the fan and lights were working intermitently. It turned out to be a faulty voltage rectafier. Some guys were close on other fixes I still don't trust my fan sensor. I think i have a bad thermostat it lets the bike run too hot but the fan sometimes lets me down. Put the by-pass switch for energency. O by the way check the Rectefier connections at back of the bike may have oily substance some say it is oil that travels up the wires I don't know that but mine was nasty I bought a new rectefier and cut the wires their direct now never had problem with relays so far. I know its weird the bike still cranks but im just saying thats what i went thru for months

I have a 2004 Honda shadow Aero 750. Bike starts fine, but no headlight, checked fuse.. is good. But the high beam indicator doesnt even show the blue light on the tank when high beams switched on. Any...

It could be the headlight bulb, the headlight switch or a worn/broken wire to the headlight. I would take out the headlight bulb and see if you can see a break in the filament. You could also use a jumper wire and test it with a 12 volt battery. If the headlight checks out ok, I would take a 12 volt tester and see if you have voltage at the headlight plug.

Good Luck

Why won't my console display and display lights turn on after reconnecting electrical connectors on my 2005 VTX 1300.

You have obviously unplugged something... check inside the headlight,, a lot of connections in there!! Double check the instrument cluster and under the tank.

Why wont the Headlight and Highbeam indicator wont work

Does the headlight itself work? Will it switch from low beam to high beam? If the lights work but just the indicator is bad, then perhaps the problem is in the indicator socket (corrosion or loose connection) or the wiring to the indicator (bad connector, break in the wire or printed circuit board trace). If the lights don't work, it could be the handlebar switch is failing but it's more likely to be the wiring coming from the bars to the handlebar pivot area.

WHY IS THERE THE WRITH " LAMPF! " ON THE DISPLAY OF MY GS 1200 2006?

There is a light out on the front of your bike, could be a parking light, turn signal or headlight bulb. Turn on ignition and check the lamps on the bike, then start the engine and check the headlights.

Do you have the owners manual for the R1200GS? The warning indicators are described in the manual.
