You can pick up a complete owners/service manual as well as the parts manual on cd. I got mine for my GL1100, then when I upgraded to my GL1200, I picked up another set from the same person.
Contact Wanda G at firstname.lastname@example.org. I believe she still sells the cd's for around $7.00 including the shipping anywhere in the US.
When I got mine, she included both the owners/service manual and the parts manual. Pretty big to download, at around 200mb.
Manuals are good enough, I just rebuilt my engine, and all 4 carbs and I'm no mechanic.

To get at the front speakers, you will need to 1st remove the following items: fairing pockets, ignition switch cover, top inner covers, seat, top compartment, rear view mirror, and headlight adjusting knob.
Then you will be able to remove the dash panel. The 4 screws that hold each speaker can then be accessed once the panel is off...
I know it is a long list to go thorough to get to the speakers, but that's how Honda designed it.
hope this helped

SOURCE: Removing engine on Goldwing
Your local Honda dealer might have a friendly mechanic to give you advice, either way you will need a hoist and a couple of small trolly jacks to shift the weight from mounting to mounting to avoid straining plates and fixings. Good Luck! PS There are several sites that offer free downloads of workshop manuals, trawl through these first, - The Yeti

Hello stingray7401...A puff of grey smoke on start-up when cold usually indicates worn valve stem seals...engine oil is seeping into the combustion chambers.
If the smoke disappears after a few minutes then don't worry. This can happen even on low mileage engines and is more a case of age rather than mileage...The early GL's are very reliable engines...i 've seen a few with over 200k and still running the roads.
Good luck...i hope this helps...please rate me a fixya.
