How much oil does it take????

Oops, sorry, missed it up the toptop.

My '96 K1100RS manual tells me it's 3.1 litres with no filter change, or 3.6 litres with a filter change. That's 6.5 US pints and 7.6 US pints respectively. Or 5.5 UK pints and 6.4 UK pints.

Engine eats oil

How much oil to 1000 km?
You have some white-blue smoke behind when engine is warm?
Also check when is cold with some revs up.

My Sabre seems to be eating oil.. There is no black smoke and no leaks but every 800 miles I am adding about quart of oil. Has anyone else had this issue? I am about to replace the rings.

I have no solution. My 2006 use oil like that. I keep a check on it and add small amounts to the line.
I run it hard on the freeway/forty miles to work/forty back home. I have 18,000 miles it still runs strong no problem. That maybe reason the book says change the oil 8,000 miles.

91' K75s vs '93 K1100RS

I would be thinking more about a decent second hand K1200RS - far superior in every way to the K1100RS. Plenty of good used examples around at reasonable prices and a huge aftermarket options list. You should be looking around US$5K for a 2000 model MK1 RS and it will do everything you can throw at it.
