Question about 2005 Honda Eterno

Clutch My new honda eterno clutch is getting weared after nearly every 500 kms of running what is the reason.

Either the springs are weak and should have been replaced with the clutch or the linkage is too tight and the clutch is slipping all the time.

On my 1987 honda shadow 1100 clutch handle comes almost all the way out before catching can i adjust it or do i need to replace clutch disc or any thing else


while engine is not running follow the clutch cable back to its point of origin & look for any other clutch adjustments besides the the one at the clutch handle if all clutch cable adjustments are backed off & clutch is still slipping its time for a new clutch assy buy a clymers repair manual,

Yamaha royal star motorcycle cluch whine and shudder in 4th and 5th gear at any speed


It is slipping. These big yamahas normally have slipping clutches. Mine slips, I've just learned to baby the clutch. Make sure you are in the most comfortable gear for the speed you are running at. Avoid rolling on full power at low speeds in higher gears. It's the nature of these great beasts. Clutch springs are too weak in these bikes, you may consider an aftermarket clutch spring assembly. The "shudder"(intermittent slipping) is caused by glazing. Make sure you are using the right lubricants for your bike, some synthetics can cause problems.

1)Adjust clutch cable correctly, check
2)Pull the clutch assembly apart, if there is little wear then you have "glazed" plates, clean each plate with 600 grit sandpaper and reassemble...get a new clutch spring assembly (weakened spring causes "shudder", slippage, and consequently glazing). Reassemble and adjust correctly (many forums out there with info).
3)Replace the full assembly and adjust correctly at setup. Adjust regularly....I check adjustment about every 300-500 miles.
4)Pay a shop to do these things for you.

I need the friction plates maximum wear specs


If the clutch is slipping you need to buy a new clutch pack,which will include clutch friction plates and thrust washers.As for specs if slipping and free play on handle is correct .Clutch is shot.I dont know the specs off hand.But if you are asking this question I would think you need new clutch.

The clutch is quit tight and the gear are not changing easily and not neutral.


well if the clutch cable is adjusted all the way in, then the clutch disc, and plates would need to be changed, especialy if its hard to shift in and out of gear while running. there should be two adjustments, a top lever adjuster, and a bottom lever adjuster. always adjust the clutch componets fron bottom to top.

1982 honda 500,cluch will not disengage,wen ingaged it sticks,no manual,not sure how it goes together


If your clutch is slipping after you let out the lever (just for a second then it grabs) you need a new clutch cable. This is a fairly common problem on the CX500.
If you are not sure how to put the clutch together you can look at an online microfiche to see a break down of the clutch. bikebandit.com or babbitsonline.com are good sites to check.

Hello, Clutch not disengaging properly


it looks like you have worn clutch plates very common on learner bikes. but do try to adjust the clutch cable first by winding the adjuster on the clutch lever. if this fails drain the eng oil and remove the left hand eng cover to get at the clutch plates. remove the springs by turning retaining bolts about 6 of them. then your clutch plates will slide out off the drum any bent steel plates even a little replace. any dark or burnt friction plates also replace, usually done all in one go and quite cheap to do . fit new parts in exactly reverse order dont forget new oil re set cable and off you go p.s also check clutch basket for tiny notches from plate wear if very little a gentle file will sort this

Same problem, gets stuck in 3rd gear, i have to pull over


I not sure whether I can help you but I have found a couple things cause jammed or stuck shifters.
Shift forks are bent and must be checked for alignment. Tough problem need to strip out transmission.
Pawl shifter damaged or retainer clip broken. The pawl shifter is attached to the shift lever and moves the forks into place through shifting up and down. You will have to pull the side cowl after removing the clutch cover, drain the oil.
Make sure you have enough oil in the sump, if it runs a wet sump. Low oil can cause stiction.
Check clutch for excessive wear which can cause poor shift performance.

My friction point of my clutch is very short and hight on the leve, i have 70000km, can i ajust the lever near the gearbox(near the rear wheel), or it is my clutch is wear out thank you


you can adjust it but your clutch is getting worn, you can adjust on both ends but if you have no free play think of replaceing the clutch.

Your clutch plates have lasted 25 years. It is probably time to get some new plates. Have your dealer get you a set of Barnett clutch plates.
