I change my oil (Shell Rotella T 15W-40) and filter (Wix) every 3k miles. My oil capacity is stamped on my case by my sight glass. Check owner's manual.

Type oil recommended

I have used synthetic oil since my first oil change at 1,000 miles. It now has 65,000 and does not burn any oil between changes at 5,000. You can buy the synthetic at your local Harley dealer. They have one oil now that can be used in all three applications. Otherwise buy any brand of synthetic that you can find at the best price.

I have a 2002 Suzuki Hayabusa GSX1300R with 31000 miles, and just had the original fork oil changed to Silkolene Pro RSF 5. I changed it because the front end was pogoing a bit just driving down the road....

Take them to someone who specialises on suspension rebuilds and get them sorted properly. You cannot afford to mess about with the handling on a bike that is capable of 200mph!

How much fuel does a yamaha serow 225 WE consume per km?How long should i take to replace engine oil?what is the best engine oil type do you recommend i should use? What are the rite pressure units for both...

Your Serow should get around 70 Miles per gallon (28 kilometers per liter). I find that the oil in my bike is thrashed after 1000 miles of riding. It only takes one quart of oil to change it so that is probably the best interval for a single cylinder dirt bike. In you case every 1600 to 2000 kilometers. You should use only a JASO MA certified motorcycle oil. 10w-40 for cold climate/year round. 20w-50 for warm climate/touring. Car oils use different additives and may cause scoring in certain types of cam bearings. Do not use any oil that says " Energy Conserving " on the label . It will shorten the life of your wet clutch and transmission gears. If you choose Synthetic oils, they will help your bike run cooler and shift easier. Shell Rotella T and Rotella T Synthetic 15w-40 are inexpensive JASO MA oils. Trials bikes use tire pressures around 10 PSI (.7 kg/cm). Lower pressures are used for better traction off road. Street bike tires run higher pressures around 30 to 35 PSI (2.1 kg/cm to 2.4 kg/cm)for road driving. This gives better cornering and tire wear. For good all around performance for on/off riding you probably want to run 25 to 30 PSI (1.8 kg/cm to 2.4 kg/cm). For mostly street use 30 to 35 PSI (2.1 kg/cm to 2.4 kg/cm). There is probably a sticker on the frame near the side cover that tells you the factory recommended tire pressure for your model. Ride and make adjustments from there.

Best engine oil to use. Not from bmw dealership.

Mobile 1 synthetic, I once experimented with a car by putting 15,000 miles on a single oil change(Mobile 1 synthetic) and the oil looked as clean as regular oil(Valvolene) at a 3,000 mile oil change.

Use only JASO MA certified oil in the 10w-40 or 20w-50 depending on the outside temperature. Do not use any oil with Energy Conserving on the label it will shorten the wet clutch and gear life. Amsoil and Mobil 1 make good synthetic oils.

Im after service guidelines for 96 evo

In my opinion, the Evo engine is the best engine Harley ever designed. Sure it has a few problem areas but as far a good basic engine or an engine that can be modified for tremendous power, the Evo is the one for me.

Basically, change the engine oil at least every 3000 miles, the primary oil and transmission oil at 5000 mile intervals. Personally, I change the oil in all three every 1000 miles. Oil is much less expensive than engine overhauls.

Check the adjustment of your primary chain everytime you change the oil. Remove the tappet filter screen, (little plug on the crankcase near the oil pump), and clean that every oil change.

Other than that, keep an eye on your rear drive belt tension, your brake pads and fluid level. That's about it. Today's Harleys are better than they've ever been. Take that from someone that works on the old Pans, Shovels, and Ironheads. Today's Harleys are real feats of engineering. Enjoy your bike and ride carefully.

My oil light is on, i have 39 miles on my gsxr 600. do i need an oil change or do i need to put oil in

Don't listen to the idot that said to change your oil at 39 miles! If you only have 39 miles on your bike and your oil light is on it mean there is low oil pressure so you need more oil in it. Cause the only reason that light goes on is when theres not enough oil in it. Not because you need an oil change. Also the oil change should be done at least every 3,000 miles but I do mine at 2,500. Also When you change the oil for the first time, you want to change the Filter as well. Every oil change there after you dont have to change the filter every time, you can do it every other oil change if you choose to. And always fill it up to in between the lines of your sight glass. and always makesure that after you put oil in it you start it up and for about 30-60 seconds then shut off and let sit for about an hour and add oil as needed.

I am wondering how much oil this bike holds?

the amount of oil should be marked on the crankcase by the filler plug. as for changing your oil, depends on where you live and what oil you use. people here in the USA change oil more regular than England, I believe oil in England to be a better quality. but a change of oil every 3-4000 miles is good, or every 6 months.

Oil type choice

For the best results use a full synthetic oil - not a synthetic blend. When you change oil filters add an Engine Sentry to the filter.,,
