Find the closest bar and have a couple beers wait for it to stop raining.
Then ride very cautiously until the road drys

When it rains, slow down a bit. Be aware that the first rains in the season will cause all the accumulate oil and spooge to float up to the surface and make the roads really slick for the first hour or three. Keep practicing your panic stops. Be aware that since there is less traction, your rear wheel will even more readily lock up, so be gentle with it until you get a feel for its traction in the wet.

Honda sabre

I have an 04 Honda Sabre 1100 that does the same thing. If the rain is steady, it will actually die. After you come to a stop, it will start right away and run ok for a little while until you get up to speed in the rain and will die again. Very frustrating. Can't see any shorting when viewing in dark conditions. Bike shop also couldn't figure anything out. Any ideas?
If I figure anything out, I'll repost what worked for me.

Check your kickstand safety switch- it sounds as though water from the pavement may be entering it....although I am not sure if the switch is normally open or closed with kickstand up- I don't have a manual for our Vulcan yet!

Push statrer button and nothing happens

Sounds like too much oil! Yeah it sounds like a switch. You can probably get that thing apart and see what's happening. Have you ridden in the rain lately or trailered it through heave rain? I trailered my Ducati through some heavy rain in North Carolina and washed all the grease out of the throttle, wouldn't even turn. I have a feeling, you have corroded the connection some how, check it out.

My fxr engine will shut off when it rain heavily...how to solve that?

try putting dielectric grease in all the plugs inside the headlight housing. Also dielectric grease on the connectors under the fuel tank this should stop the rain issue.

Rain repellant for visor

Have you tried Rainex? It may not work either, but the reason you cannot effectively accomplish what you want is because visors are made to repell surfactants, which is a wetting agent found in probably all rain repelling products.

Until you find a way to do that, you will not be successful. I suggest polishing your visor with "Gel Gloss", and highly buffing it. The water will still bead up, but it will slide quickly off the visor so that your vision is not as impaired.
