This sounds great! My husband doesn't seem to worry about anything happening to his motorcycle, but I am not quite as trusting as he is. I would love to get him a motorcycle lock for his bike.

Lock the steering to one side with the ignition lock. Use a disk lock. Use a large lock with a chain around something solid. If you use a disk lock, also get a bright ribbon that says something clever like “Remove Before Takeoff” so you don’t forget to remove the lock before you break your brake disk. Keep the motorcycle out of sight … or in a brightly-lit area. Keep it under a cover, with a better lock than the other motorcycles nearby. Get a bike that is less popular with thieves. Despite all this advice and all your best efforts, your bike might still get stolen.

Why do lights flash while on trailer on 2014 street glide

The bike senses movement (like someone is stealing it) and activates the "Smart Security System".
You won't have an actual alarm unless you have the optional alarm installed.

You need to put it in "Transport Mode"

In the transport mode, the Harley-Davidson Smart Security System is armed but the motion detectors are inactive.
The motorcycle can be transported on a trailer without activating the alarm while the starter and ignition remain disabled.

Here's a video how:

And written instructions:

With an assigned fob within range, turn the ignition switch to IGNITION.
Before the security system lamp goes out, turn the ignition switch to OFF.
Within three seconds, simultaneously press both the left and the right turn signal switches.
After the turn signals flash once, the system enters the transport mode.
With the fob removed, the motorcycle can be moved without setting off the alarm.

What security does the bike have?

Every motorcycle I have ever seen ... which is far short of all the motorcycles in the world ... has a fork lock. Many upper end motorcycles have a security system as an option. There are also after market systems which can be installed. There is also the "big strong chain and pad lock" method where you carry a big chain with a big pad lock and lock your bike to a telephone pole when you are not on it. While this is pretty good insurance ... I doubt your insurance company will recognize this method of security for a discount.

I hope this answers your question.

On a Dyna 2005 what is the security lamp?

The security lamp tells you when the security system if working. It will flash when activated after the bike is shut off. If it comes on when the bike is running there is a problem. If the bike doesn't have security, the lamp will not lite up.
