Question about 2004 Harley Davidson FXSTB - FXSTBI Night Train

Wide tire on Night Train

I want to put a wider tire on my 01 Night Train but would like to avoid the costly wide tire kit and stick with my stock fender and swingarm. Can anyone tell me how wide i can go with the stock parts and what kinds of easy mods I could make to go a little wider.

2001 Vulcan 1500 Classic E. Can I put a wider back tire on and if I can how wide can I go?

talk this over with a bike shop that sells rims and tires
there are several things to consider
ride characteristics change dramatically with different tire widths
legal ramifications of different front and rear tires
real advantages of wider tires as against "looks cool"
costs of new rim and wider tire against standard tires
modification plates for the wider tire
Talk it over with an accredited bike shop and find a person that has real experience and not just a salesman

I have a 140/90 back tire on my 94 I think its to wide rubbing belt its a stock bike. Do u agree?

Most likely the back wheel is out of alignment.
With the front wheel held (exactly as possible) straight ahead.
From the back you can sight along the outside edges of the back tire on each side, as high up as you can for better accuracy.
You can use a long straight edge instead,
It should be the same amount wider than the front on both sides, get a friend to hold the bike vertical and another to hold a ruler or tape measure on the side front tire where you can see it.
This is very important to handling as well. The manufacturers marks on the back axle adjustment points are not always accurate.
The front and rear pulleys should also be perfectly aligned.
If the wheel alignment is okay then yes the tire could be too wide.

Can i put a bigger than stock tire on my 2006 suzuki gxs600f katana

By bigger I assume you mean wider. I would not run any size tire on a motorcycle the wheels were not designed for. An oversized tire will be too wide, and as result will not have the profile it was designed for. It will also negatively affect your handling, making the bike harder to lean into turns.

What is the widest tire fitment for rear 2004 1200 roadster?

I really don't know how wide you can go but I never recommend going any wider than the stock tire without modifying the bike to accept a wider tire. The problems you will run into is rubbing the final drive belt and the tire rubbing under the fender when you hit a bump. I'd stay with the original size tire.

Good Luck

Rough ride due to skinny shallow front tire. What is the largest tire that I can put on that wheel. I am willing to put a bigger fender on the bike in order to make a bigger tire fit.

the stock vulcan 800a comes with a 80/90-21, the first number is the width in mm, and the second number is the side wall ratio compared to height, the third number is the rim size. ex. the tire is 80mm wide and 90% as tall or 72mm on a 21" rim. So if you are going wider I would measure the distance between the forks in mm and go from there.

What is the widest size back tire tire for a 2001 widel glide.

I believe it is a 160 stock so you could go 180 using a stock rim, making sure that you check the clearances underneath, especially where the top shock mounts meet the fender if it is going to be close it will be there. If you want to go bigger than that there are a number of kits to put massive tires on the back. Changing a tire to more than 200 WILL change the handling of the bike

XLH frame, want to put wide tire kit on ?

Wide tire kits can be added to this frame but you will need to run an extended drive sprocket and altered sprocket cover, or a jack shaft drive system to do it. In my opinion it's more trouble than its worth.

I own a 1991 gsf400 bandit..I have to replace the stock tires with new ones and have a very good deal on the Michelin Power ct2's..the stock tire size is front-110/70/17...and rear-150/70/17....can i...

I suggest you stick with the stock tire size. If you don't, the speedometer will not read correctly. With a smaller tire if the speedo says 65 you will really be doing 55 or so. The actual mileage driven will be off as well. The lower profile tires also do not cushion the rim as well. The spokes are more likely to get out of whack. It is also harder on the brakes since the brake disk is spinning faster to go the same distance as a stock tire would be turning.
