06 Dyna rear tire wearing out quickly

My 06 Dyna Low Rider seems to through rear tires like crazy; I keep the air pressure at proper levels and 99% of my riding is on the highway. I have tried the Dunlop K591 (OEM), Michelin MACDAM 50, and most recently a Metzeler; the most I have ever gotten is 5,000 miles from any tire. Every dealer I take the bike to says there is nothing wrong but 6 tires in 25,000 miles seems excessive. Any ideas????

Sometimes the dealers will remove a wheel to change a tire and only back the adjusters off enough to get the wheel off (ie 4 full turns each). When they are done they return the adjusters the same amount of turns to tension the belt and never really align the wheel properly. This could be what the problem is.

The problem could also be if you like to downshift alot to assist the brakes when you slow down. Or if you downshift at high rpm. Downshifting creates friction just like a quick take off. By the way I am heavy handed and I like to lay down a strip every now and then and I get about 5000 on a my rear tire.

First off the thing that makes the tire wear out is in your right hand (the throttle), while riding the tire leaves a pressure mark (i.e. the tire is slipping) on the road a little when you take off, this fact and the fact is it does this all the time you ride, and how you ride the bike determins about how long it (the tire) will last, easy taking off from a dead stop and riding easy you get longer tire life(ride like my dad 86yrs old). take off fast and ride fast like a hot rodder short tire life (like me 53yr scrn nme topfuelhd) my dad used two tires in about 20,000 i used 4 in about the same time, I am the person in charge of service on dads bike he makes stuff last longer

How much air in the front and the back tires for a 2003 HD Dyna Lowrider are required

Max pressure is 41psi for thise tires. Tire pressure depends much on how you ride/drive.

depending on your size (160lb vs 300lb) you can start at about 36R 34F and go up. Too low, you damage teh tire, too high you feel every rock in the road.

Recomende tire pressure touring motorcycle

Generally I put the front and rear tires @ 40 psi. You get better gas mileage , plus it rolls better when you have to push it around, but you also get better tire wear. I would set your rear air suspension around 12 -15 psi.
