Any good suggestions for Super Glide Sport bars?

Hey guys, I'm having just a couple of issues with the stock bars on my FXDX, and was wondering if anyone had any suggestions. Issue #1: I live up in the twisties and turn fairly aggressively around some of the hairpins (as my jiffy stand has found to its dismay), but I have to say that the counter-steering "feel" of the stock bars leaves much to be desired. On past bikes I've ridden, when aggressively counter-steered, shoving that grip out was a very positive action with definite (and useful) feedback through the bars. I dunno what it is about these stock bars, but I get very little feedback with them and it's kind of throwing me off. Oh, the bike leans over just fine and I'm whippin' around the hairpins OK, but it just doesn't feel right. Maybe that makes sense to anyone else, I dunno. Issue #2: Since I added the mustang solo seat, I'm set back a bit further and need to sit up straighter in the seat in order to have the butt-conforming shape of the mustang be comfortable. Unfortunately, these bars don't have much pull-back and I'm having to sort of hunch forward at the shoulders while sitting up straight, which is a pretty uncomfortable combo, I can tell you. If the bars came back to me, while still providing the feedback above, I'd be happier than a clam at high tide. 'course, I suppose I'll have to replace the cables too if I change the bars much. Anyone have any favorites there too? Thanks, as always, for all the useful advice in this great forum!

I put pullback Deuce bars, 56330-00, along with pullback risers on my Wide Glide and like the fit. Total pullback is about 11.5". You can also get chrome FXST bars this year, 56154-04, which are close to the Deuce bars. I also put in urethane bushings which do add a little vibration, not bad but I can feel the difference. Deuce: 31" wide, 5" rise, 9" pullback. FXST: 30" wide, 5.75" rise, 9.25" pullback. Reply With Quote

How do i replace the choke knob on an fxdx

I've changed plenty of cables but never just the knob. Look on the backside and see it there is a locknut. If so, loosen the nut and screw the knob off the cable.

Good Luck

Will the wheels from a 2000 Harley-Davidson FXDX Dyna Super Glide Sport fit on a 1999 Harley-Davidson FXDX Dyna Super Glide Sport both have dual disc brakes on front?

Check to see if they both have the same diameter axle. Harley went from a 7/8 inch diameter axle to a 1 inch diameter axle sometime around that time period.
