Jump it off, get your handy dandy little voltmeter and put it on the battery, if it reads 13.5 to 14 volts just charge the battery or get a new one if that doesn't work, if you have 12 to 12.5 volts running it's a voltage regulator or stator problem, If you want to ck the stator e-mail me, it's a little more complicated

I have a 1991 gsxr 1100 new plugs new coils new cdi new battery but still wont spark could the starter relay be bad or cause it to just contiue to turn over but not fire....

Hi Mrrieser, and the usual suspects are:
1. Fuel tank empty.
2. Fuel supply valve/petcock turned off.
3. Fouled spark plugs.
4. Engine flooded as a result of over use of enrichner.
5. Vacuum hose to fuel supply valve/petcock disconnected, broken, cracked, or pinched.
6. Fuel valve/petcock or filter clogged.
7. Discharged battery, loose, corroded or broken battery terminal connections especially the "NEGATIVE" cable inside the harness at both ends.
8. Loose or corroded wire connection at the coil, battery or plug between ignition sensor and module.
9. Spark plug cables in bad condition and shorting, cable connections loose, or connected to the wrong cylinders.
10. Ignition timing incorrect due to faulty ignition coil, ignition module or sensors (MAP, CMP CKP and/or BAS).
11. Sticky or damaged valve or pushrod wrong length.
12. Primary cam sprocket spline sheared or missing spacer.
13. Security alarm needs a reset.

TVS scooty pep plus not starting, changed with new new battery & new spark plug - no spark coming (I have tested the spark plug connected outside touching scooty metal body & start-kicking)

Possibly a bad ignition coil. Check the connections at the ignition coil, make sure they are clean and tight, If so,..then most likely either A: the ignition coil is bad,or B: the pickup on the stator rotor is bad or the rotor could be rusted on the raised portion where the pickup get its signal.

My Harley has a bad ignition control module and where it's located at there are what looks like 2 pot rivets holding the outside cover is this factory do I just drill them out and put new ones back...

Yes, you do have to drill the heads off the rivets to get the cover off the timer cavity. Drill just enough to get the heads off the rivets with a large diameter drill bit. Before you remove the old ignition unit, mark the unit and the inside of the timer cavity so that you can install the new unit in EXACTLY the same position. This way you'll get the timing right. Do not use standard rivets to reinstall the cover plate. They are special rivets. Standard rivets will allow the broke piece to drop into the timer cavity and destroy your igniton system. You can get the rivets from you local dealer or you can replace the cover with a decorative aftermarket cover that uses screws instead of rivets.

Can a ignition module burn out a new coil. 92 fatboy with single fire coil

Yes it can. This is a common occurrence if the ignition switch was left on. It first burns up the igniton unit and it shorts out allowing a current flow through the coil that burns it out as well.

Good Luck

My H-D 1981 Heritage; the battery reads 12.6 volts. When igniton is switched on, voltage drops to 8.6 volts. Needless to say, starter just buzzes. Hope someone can help me. Casper_zip

Buy a new battery. You should be able to start the engine and the battery voltage not drop below 11 volts. You have an internal short causing you to drop two cells. A 12 volt battery is made up of six cells that have two volts each. They are built into the battery case and connected with these connectors. Over time and with use, the battery generates a sediment that builds up in the bottom of the battery. When it gets high enough to touch the lead plates, it shorts that cell out. Sounds like you have two cells shorted.

Good Luck

I need a wiring diagram for a 2002 883 harley sportser

If you are going to install a new ignition unit, all you basically need to know is which wire is the "HOT" wire. Disconnect all the wires to the coil, turn the ignition switch on and use a test light to find the "power" wire. Once you know which wire this is, you'll need the wiring schematic for the particular type of ignition unit you're installing on your bike. Usually, if you got the website for the manufacturer, they'll have "installation instructions" under their "Technical" section. Usually, with a dual fire ignition system, there are only three wires to hook up. Good Luck!

Yamaha xt 125 battery problem

RC = ReCharge, either the battery is bad, or drain, but both can be caused by a continuous short circuit on the bike's coil and the body / battery.
