Engin satnd I would like to make an engine stand for rebuilding my 77 Shovelhead. I've searched the forum but couldn't find the info. I need to know the mounting dimensions (width between bolt holes side to side, and front to back, and bolt diameter). Does anyone have a drawing of a stand, or the dimensions?
An old damaged frame can be a donor for an engine stand... just cut accordingly. There used to be an ample supply, but in the past few years they've gotten scarce. Another trick is to build one out of 2x4s (bolted, of course) with a stout base on locking caster wheels (makes it real easy to maneuver on your benchtop).. It's not a big deal to take accurate measurements off your '77... Just remember to measure twice, and cut once...

Well stop looking on forums , most of those people don't have a clue ! Looking at a wiring diagram of the starting electrical circuit for your vehicle ,then testing for B+ voltage an good grounds where they should be is how to find and fix the problem , not guessing an listing to other people on forums . Something that fixes there problem was just lucky guess. By you saying it won't crank i take that to mean that when you turn the key to the start position nothing happens ? Is this correct ? A lot of people get that mixed up with the vehicle won't start a run . Do you know what a wiring diagram is ? What a DVOM -digital volt ohmmeter is ? How to use them for testing a electrical circuit .
What size engine does it have ? Is it a 4X4 ? Manual or automatic transmission ?

Ignition switch ,park neutral safety switch if it has a automatic transmission , clutch pedal position switch for manual trans , plus the starter motor relay ,starter motor . This is how professional automotive tech's find and fix electrical problems , it takes year's of training to get good . Plus thing's change all the time . Electric Testing Techniques You Need to Know
To rebuild the primary of '72 Shovelhead is far too much to type out here. Besides, you'll need some pictures to help you identify a few things. You know the saying, "A picture is worth a thousand words". In this case, it's true. I'd suggest that you purchase a service manual. The best one that I've found is a Clymer's Manual, number M420 for Shovelhead 1966-1984. The factory manuals have been condensed so much that I think they rank second to this book. If you have a specific question, I can help there but to type out the entire process would be like me writing a book but without pictures.
I can help you on the rebuild info. What is wrong with the engine? If it is real bad it would likely be cheaper to just replace the engine with a used engine from a salvage yard. Usually replacement engine parts for toyota aren't cheap. The used engine will be the cheaper option.
My V11 scura also seized but I'm not sure of the cause as I had help stripping the engine
I found that I could get a new factory surplus engine for less than the cost of reconditioning the existing engine.
Corsa Itialiana had a deal on a new engine
It may be worth your while enquiring from them before you get into serious expense.
