Question about 2004 Ducati 998 S Final Edition

998 lowbeam problem

Recently the lowbeam on my 998 went out. I replaced the lowbeam bulb, but it still doesnt work, I checked the fuse and it seems to be alright. I also looked at the wiring associated with the headlight and nothing seemed amiss. Any tips out there for what might be wrong? BTW, the high beam works fine. Thanks,

Chips and relays go bad, but before checking that I would: Check that you are getting current in the socket that the bulb connects to. Also make sure that the socket is solid and that the connectors are intact. Make sure all wires are connected. Sometimes the ground wire or others disconnect, but look connected. I'm sure you pulled out all fuses to check with a flashlight [if you cannot see if on was blown with the naked eye]. Also, odd and obvious as this sounds, sometimes the replacement bulb may be defective too. So I'd have a couple new ones to see if that is the problem. Follow the wiring to make sure that the wiring or connectors are solid. Actually disconnect and connect all connectors as sometimes loose connections cannot be seen with the naked eye. And I would check everything forward and reverse, as it is sometimes to miss something if you only go in one direction. In other words, start at the headlight, then work back to the chips and relays, then start at the chips and relays and work toward the light. One thing I do is work in a dark place and use a bright flashlight to focus on areas I am checking. Seems to work better than in a lighted garage, etc.

Lowbeam headlights wont work, brake lights are out and check engine light is on...changed th dimmer switch, no luck

For the low beam problem, Swap relays 45 & 46 in the underhood fuse panel. Relay 46 is for the Low Beams. If that fixes the light, replace the relay that cam out of position 46.
Since the high mounted brake light is working, that indicates that the brake switch is good. You need to check the bulbs in the rear tail light assembly, if they are good, check fuse #34.

I got a 2004 chevy trailblazer 4.2l. DRL/lowbeams don't work. All other lights (park lights, high beams, turn signal) work. Driver side DRL bulb blew. Both went out at the same time. Replaced both...

If it is anything like my 04 GMC Sierra, there is a relay panel under the hood. In that underhood box where you found the fuses, there are also relays. They pop out (the diagram is on the lid of the box). After the GMC hit 200k, the relays started going out. The high beams are on a relay, the lowbeams are on a different one. You can pop one out and replace it with the horn or foglight relay if you want to check it out. I am betting that the DRL bulb just happened to go at the same time. Mine go out regularly..I would say around every 10-15k miles. I don't know if this helps, it is just something that I have run across with a similar vehicle.

I have a 1997 outback and I have no low beam headlights. any clues?

The dimmer switch on the stalk usually operates a relay in the fuse box.
It could be the dimmer switch, relay, lowbeam fuse, or odd coincidence both lowbeam filaments went out.
Use a test light and work backwards.

Lowbeam lights went out fuse and bulb are good. all other lights work

Check relay #46 in the underhood fuse panel, check for corroded contacts first, if clean, replace relay.

Lowbeam head lights dont't work after changing bulbs

{: ) For the lowbeam headlamps, check these fuses at the underhood fuseblock:
LO HEADLAMP LT 10amp
LO HEADLAMP RT 10amp
HDM 15amp (main power for the HDM relay. Important)
Voltage is always present at the HDM fuse. When you switch on lowbeams, voltage should be present on the LT and RT fuses. Otherwise check the HDM relay or swap it with another known good and similar relay.
Check the two fuses again for votage:
If voltage is now present, proceed with wiring checks, checking for open wiring going to the bulbs.
If voltage is still not present on the two left and right fuses, but the HDM fuse and relay voltages are okay, you may be having a bad fuseblock.
