I think the 696 is 30" or 31". If it helps, my inseam is 31" inches and I can easily flatfoot it (lots of bend in the knees). It's taller than my 695 for sure--even with the touring seat.

I want to know how to lower my seat height on my 1999 ducati 900ss from 1-2 inches

Hi, Kingaswing1 here are some options for lowering your bike depending on your needs and wallet:
1. Rear shock lowering kit.
2. Front fork lowering kit.
3. Shorter rear shocks.
4. Shorter front forks.
5. Thinner padded seat.
6. Lower profile tires.
Please be aware that some of these options or a combination of options will require a shorter kickstand or your stock one modified. For more information about your issue and valuable free downloads that you will need please visit the websites below. Good luck and have a nice day.

I am thinking about buying this bike but not sure if it will fit....I am short (5. 7' and both feet need to touch the ground...but what is the distanmce from the top of seat to the ground and then what is...

I don't know the measurements of that bike, but I bought a 99 , 750 monster for my wife, I had to take the rear spring way down, no spring left, rigid suspension, and I had to lower the yoke on the forks as far as I could, I got quite a bit out of it, like 2 1/2 inches of height, now she can touch the ground. made it a totally different bike.

Hi Abrhamchami, call, take a ride or trailer your bike over to your local dealers service/parts department, I'm sure they will be happy to take your Harley Davidson for a test ride if necessary/possible and offer professional advice and assistance concerning your issue. Good luck have a nice day.

I need to lower my 2005 Goldwing ... have no idea how to do this.

You may be able to modify your seat by removing some of the padding, and recovering it. Aftermarket seats may also be available.

Very slight adjustments in height can often be achieved by moving the fork tubes in the triple clamp. Note that this will affect the handling characteristics of the bike. This modification is not recommended for safety reasons.

Another alternative is to wear boots with an extra thick sole.

In any of these cases, the difference in height is going to be relatively small -- a couple inches at most. It is important that your bike allows you to feel comfortable, confident, and that you can control it fully at all times. Although it's not a very satisfying solution, the best solution might be to find a bike with a lower standover height.

the most important thing is to check the oil gauge if it has enough oil not low and not high. also maintain its oil change procedure on it manual and its tune up, use the same gasoline octane every time. then check the brake fluid of the bike for your safety. maintain its cleanliness. and don't run without gasoline and that is a joke. thanks... drive safely...

Want to lower the seat height.

best go with a lowering link to drop the rear end a little. there is not much seat there in the first place for anyone to make a thinner one, other than getting a race use seat unit. http://www.mpsracing.com/products/Spencer/Links.asp

695 ride hight

I'd start 15mm higher and work up 5 mm at a time from there. You'll know when you get to the point you don't like. Are you going to do anything with the front? If you do you'll want to make adjustments one end at a time. I never lengthened my stand. The bike leans at a pretty steep angle, but it's a non issue to me.

Adjusting S4RS Ride Height

Several people on the old monsterforum said they were able to do it in place but I had to remove my adjuster rod to accomplish an increase my ride height. The adjuster nuts are threaded in opposite directions. Just remember to measure the height from the floor to a reference point before you move anything. I increased my ride height by 1” and dropped the front 3/8”. Your owners manual specifies the max threads you may have showing. Get a electronic copy of the factory manual on the Dutch site for about $5.00. The handling was MUCH better and the bike finishes the turn much better – made a hugh difference. I supported my bike with a floor jack under the sump but was sure to put a lot of soft foam material between the jack and the sump. A cracked engine sump would be expensive.,,
