How can I tell if the fuse is blown on my Schumacher SE50 car battery charger?

That is not a fuse. That is a bimetal thermal breaker that opens if it gets too hot. That charger uses load sensing and will not send any voltage to the clamps until it detects a battery connected to them. You wont get any sparks from touching the clamps together and the only way to really check that charger is with a volt meter.

Can not figure out where the battery is and how to get to it to charge it on a 2002 Suzuki Savage 650

Some bikes have the battery under the seat, or a plastic side panel in front of the rear wheel. If your gas filler is under the seat the battery will be under the mock gas tank close to the neck. I have a v-rod and the battery is packed under the neck. Most newer bikes will also have a charging plug near the battery compartment so you just plug it in to a bike charger. And not have to pull out the battery or use alligator clamps. The plug will be female, and look like the #8

How do I get to the battery to charge it

To access your battery, take off your side covers. There is a bolt on each side of the back of the seat. Remove the two seat mount bolts and lift the seat off to access the battery. If you only want to charge the battery take off the left side cover, attach you power cable from the charger to the plus cable going from the battery to the starter solenoid. Then, attach the negative charger clamp to a frame bolt or engine mounting bolt. This will charge your battery with out removing the seat.

How do I remove the negative battery cable to remove the battery for charging on a 2008 1200 sportster custom?

You can charge the battery without removing the battery. Find the large cable that comes from the battery where it connects to the starter. Connect you positive charger clamp there. Connect the negative charger clamp to any good frame ground on the bike. You can charge you battery using this method provided you battery charger clamps are not too big.

If you can't do this, you'll have to take the seat off the bike, remove the battery hold down strap, and then move the battery outwards so you can disconnect the negative battery cable.

Good Luck

Is the fuel pump located outside the gas tank or inside the gas tank?

HI. This vehicle has a fuel pump access cover located inside the trunk, under the carpet overlay. Once you have removed the carpet; the cover can be seen in the center section of the trunk bed. There are 4 retaining nuts that are holding the cover on the access hole. Remove the nuts retaining the access cover in the trunk and lift up the cover. Once the cover is removed, the fuel pump will be exposed for maintenance or replacement.

The complete fuel pump module assembly in located inside your tank under the cover.

What polarity do I use on a universal car charger for my leapster?and what is the correct voltage?

mcdevito75 here, Unless your toy has a 12 volt Battery, your auto battery charger will not work. BUT just in case, There is ared battery cable and a blck battery cable on the toy and-- a red clamp and a black clamp on the charger, Hook the red clamp to the red battery wire and the black clamp to the black battery wire, now you need to know the batterys voltage in the toy and MOST OF ALL your AUTO charger is designed only for car, truck batteries as these batteries are the wet cell type, that is unless your toy has a wet cell battery, if the battery in the Leapstar looks like a car battery count the caps on top of the battery if thwere are 6 caps the battery is 12 volt if only 3 caps the battery is 6 volts. Check with leapstar for the correct charger.

Get a volt meter and check with charger on (make sure the ends don't touch each other or anything metal, could ruin your day and your charger. There should be some sort of marking inside the machine to tell you which is red (+) and black (-). May be in small print.

Battery Access

Ana suggested looking under the seat. Not appropriate!

The battery is under the tank, but you don't need to remove the tank, just loosen it off. You need to remove the Right body panel, and the air "tank trim" panels, and loosen off the two oil coolers. They can hang happily enough on the hoses. On the right side under the body panel there is a tank mounting screw that you need to take off. Then the tank can be propped up, but be careful not to put strain on the fuel lines! This will give you access to the battery. I can't remember if you need to take off the air filter box as well.

Try getting a copy of the Haynes manual, it's not expensive and it's very detailed.
