Question about 2006 Triumph Bonneville T100

2006 Triumph T100, Tech drops 3 to4K rpms to 0 restart required

Problem is random but has occured up to 10 times in a 25 mi span on a bad day along with noticeable spikes on the tach and back fires associated at times

I have a 2006 T100 Bonneville and one exhaust is getting far hotter than the other - any suggestions please?


The hot pipe is running a lean fuel / air mix. Chances are outside air is getting into the intake manifold by getting past the mounting clamps between the carb and the cylinder. A cracked rubber manifold, burned exhaust valve, loose spark plug or bad head gasket are other possibilitys. Is there any chance a previous owner has a smaller main jet in one carb than the other? Are the spark plugs both the same? Please rate my answer. Thanks!

Oil pump is going bad in my 1999 chevy lumina


First we would need to know when this occurs. Asuming the oil level is at the full mark!. If the pressure goes up during acceleration and down at idle when engine is fully warmed up, then this is normal. An engine requires 10 psi of oil pressure per 1,000 rpm ( ex. 20 psi at 2,000 rpm, 25 psi at 2,500 rpm, and so on ) . If the gauge is moving back and forth erratically at idle , i would say the gauge is bad. If it drops to 0 while accelerating I would say your oil pump is bad. If from time to time it seems to work and other times it seems not to work, I would say the oil pressure sending unit for the gauge is bad. If the pump failed you would start to here a Knocking noise from the engine in a short period of time. Use the above scenario's to narrow down what it may be.

My 2006 Triumph America has a problem starting up. The engine starts but cuts out after approx 6-7 secs and will not then re-start for an hour or so. I have checked the battery and fuel flow and found no...


I have a friend that has a 2006 Triumph America and the same thing happened to him. Started running on one cylinder and then just refused to start. I did a check on everything and found that the CDI went bad. This is mounted under the fuel tank along the back bone and is about 3 inch square box.
They mounted them with a type of plastic rivet and would vibrated on the mount and cause something inside to break. When you replace it mount it solid and use a piece of rubber between the mounting plate and the CDI.
