Question about 1987 Honda CBX 250

CBX 250 been standing unused a long while; cuts out at low revs

I'm told this bike has been left standing in a shed for a long time; last owners only claim to have done 450ks on it. Takes a bit of starting... much revving to get the motor to catch... What do you think?

if ur able tu revbike in nuetral and no issue then its probly a clutch glitch--need to ajust it--at handlebars or engine case-getta clymer manual for details

Tl1000r engine cuts in out in first gear low revs fine in all others also engine stalls when aproching lights etc can anybody shed any light on it

im having the same prob it ticks over fine in neutral but at lights standing still in 1st gear she just wont hold on n dies! So today she's in for full service will report back on spark plug solution! but i think the clutch plates are worn down allowing it to slip out of life!

2001 Honda CBX 250 TWister hard to find neutral

Hi, Hyosgrace and the usual suspects are:
1. Clutch not adjusted properly.
2. Wrong type of clutch oil.
3. Contaminated or damaged fiber plates.
4. Warped steel plates.
5. Clutch basket drive chain too tight.
6. Clutch basket bearing failure.
7. Pressure plate warped or springs too weak.

Check the owner's manual or visit your nearest dealer. They should not charge you for this info.

Engine cuts out as you accelerrate when in nuetral.

You might have a coil problem or you might need a sparkplug cupor you need to synchronize your carbs.get your valves check also.

Honda cbx 6 clutch rattle at idle and low rev hirendouse

Glazed alternator clutch plates? Kind of a ratcheting sound? Common when oil wasn't changed or sitting unused too long.
1. Easy fix - drain oil, remove filter. Add diesel fuel to crankcase. Turn engine over. let sit and drain. Refill with new nonsynthetic oil and replace filter. Warm up. Drain, remove filter. Refill with fresh nonsynthetic oil, and install new filter.
2. Harder, but better. Remove plates and clean or replace them.

`it should be ok
but you need to change all the fluids and remove the carbs and clean them replace all the filters clean the fuel tank and petcock new battery. make sure that you use motorcycle engine oil when you change it.
