Im having trouble taking off the back of the dryer to locate the old fuse
The thermal fuse is bad, the part # is 3392519. This part is located at the back of the machine on the lower left side. You will need to remove the back panel to access this part. Be sure that you unplug the machine before starting. On certain machines, the thermal fuse is located in the front. To access this you must remove the kickplate, which can be done by pushing the clips, one on each side jsut above the top of the kickplate, in between the top and abottom portion. The part numbers are the same for either style dryer.

Just replace the thermal fuse for now. You have gotten good use from this machine. But, this is also may be the beginning of the end. Thermal fuses are not expensive either. These things just go out at no uncertain times.

SOURCE: Thermal Fuse keep failing
Fuse and element failure is related to lack of air passing over the element. The drum and fan should run even if the heater is inoperative. Find out what is stopping them, then work on heat. If motor is running, there should be air flow--pull vent hose from wall outlet--should be brisk air flow. If not, remove the lint screen and check again. If now ok, soak the lint screen in hot water and detergent. If drum does not turn, check the drive belt and if it sits properly on motor pulley.
If your dryer is not getting hot, the thermal fuse may be blown. Instead of calling an expensive repairman, you can replace this simple part yourself in less than an hour. Make sure you purchase the correct replacement fuse for your make and model of dryer. Your owner's manual should have a list of compatible part numbers. You may also be able to order a replacement directly from your dryer manufacturer's website.
