Lost brake lever pressure

Hi all, i just changed my stock lines over to HEL braided lines (2 lines straight from MC to each calliper. Bled them all out. Done correctly and severl times at each bleed nipple at MC and at each calliper. Repeated this process several time and never let resevouir run dry. Went out for ride. great break pressure in lever. Then when i wound it up to about 160 kilometers i suddenly lost quite a bit of pressure in the front brake lever. I didn't come right back to the throttle but scared the hell out of me. I adjusted the lever back out and then it seemed fine again. More slow riding up to about 80kph...all good. Then again wound it up to a high speed and same thing happened. I went home last night and bled the brakes again but i am pretty sure there was only fluid and no air. Checked thoroughyl for leaking fluid...can;t see any anywhere? Any suggestion? Anyone ever experienced this? Thanks

SOURCE: Brakes leaking

Take it back to the dealership. There is nothing to be tightened. The seals need to be replaced and TC Ridley can do it.

SOURCE: brake line

you're in for a fun night. You need to start pumping new fluid in. Fill up the reservoir then pump the lever a couple of times to get fluid to start to flow into there. Then... you'll have to bleed them. Pump pump pump, squeeze, open nipple, close nipple, release, pump pump pump, squeeze, open nipple, close nipple, release. Do not let the reservoir empty out. Keep doing this until you get clean brake fluid through the lines and no bubbles. It's going to take a lot of worth though.

SOURCE: Rear brakes not fully releasing

I had an XJ 1100 and had the same problem. after paying someone else two diferent times I found an article talking about the very problem, (wish I could tell you where it is but) what it said was this system was prone to moisture getting in the rear master cylinder. I took the cylider apart and carfully cleaned all the brown residue out of all the small areas and orfices. then with a large suction/pressure pump bought at NAPA I forced good quality dot 4 fluid through the lines untill all the fluid came out clear (better buy 2 quarts this may take several flushings. then disasemble and clean the wheel cylinder as carefully as you did the master cylinder. This solved the problem on my 82 XJ 1100, the article said the trick was that if you live in a climate where weather chages with the seasons changing the fluid each riding season should prevent this from clogging again. Hope this helps, mine worked great afterwords.

Brake pedal goes to floor changed brakes, proportions valves and bled brakes and pedal still goes to floor what do I check next?

With no air in the brake system, (because it has been properly bled) if the pedal will go to the floor when pressure continues to be applied to the brake pedal and there are NO external brake fluid leaks in the system such as via a deteriorated flexible brake hose, then the problem will normally be with a worn brake master cylinder (MC) . Heavy wear in the internals of the brake MC , (the pistons and bore), will cause the problem you have. This is a common problem on older car with lots of miles on them where the brake MC has had a great deal of use and where the brake fluid has not been changed as frequently as it should be.

If the MC was in good shape, you have no air trapped in the MC or in the brake lines, and the brake pedal goes to the floor then you would have an external fluid leak as the leak releases pressure in the hydraulic system as you continue to apply it with the brake pedal.

If the brake MC has to be replaced (or is otherwise removed for a repair work on the car) it is imperative the air is bled out of the master cylinder itself when the new MC is to be installed (or the original is replaced) and there is a procedure for this. If the brake MC unit is not bled of air, then applying the brakes will compress the air in the MC unit and you will get a low pedal. (Bleeding the brake lines on the car does NOT remove any air trapped in the brake MC due to failure to bleed the MC itself).

Will 2000 honda vfr800 calipers fit ?

Try braided brake lines and sintered pads or a pad with a high % of copper in them. This will make a difference.

Changing callipers is possible not sure if the VFR ones are a bolt on mod - id go the other way first.

Braided lines will cost you about $120 fronts only and the pads will be about 45-55$

Good luck

When bleeding brake on a gas gas 280cc trail rear after geting air out piston dont come out calapa has been split not leaking

ARE YOU GETTING GOOD PRESSURE FROM YOUR MASTER CYLINDER IF NOT CHANGE THE SEALS, ARE THE PISTONS SEIZED IN THE CALLIPER IF SO FREE THEM OFF. WHEN YOU BLED THE SYSTEM DID YOU BLEED IT BY PRESSING THE FOOT LEVER OR BACK BLEED IT? I WOULD TRY TO BACK BLEED IT WITH A LARGE SYRINGE AND HOSE ON THE BLEED NIPPLE WITH BRAKE FLUID AND WATCH FOR AIR IN THE FLUID BOWL. GOOD LUCK

1937 ford coupe relpaced booster brake pressure when off/no pressure when started

Try checking with either propane or water mist on all hoses and surfaces where generated vacuum could escape.

Activator rod from Brake pedal to Master cylinder can be adjustable on some models.

Brake pedal goes nearly to floor front pads, calipers, brake hoses changed, rotors turned Master cylinder changed, brake booster check valve changed rear brakes checked, drums good no ridge, shoe's...

I would go with not bled correctly

The booster should hold up with a hard pedal until
you start the engine, then vacuum causes it to move
down when pressing on the brake

Spongy Front brakes, braided hoses fitted direct to each caliper from master cylinder, also replaced brake master cylinder seals, bleed them to death, to remove air, pressure remains constant at brake...

try using a line locker close to master cyclinder ,lever should go rock hard if it has no air in system, work line locker down lines to see if lever stays hard.
also check the lever travel to make sure that lever is pushing on master cyclinder plunger as a lot of after market levers dont have correct casting and have to travel in a long way before brakes work even when system is bled. also check to make sure calliper carriers are not bent and pads not sitting square on rotors.
hope this helps

Brake issue yamaha

Pump the lever 5 or 6 times w/ bleeder closed while holding lever, open bleeder close bleeder, pump the lever. Repeat as necessary - works best w/ 2 people. If you really want to get the fluid flowing fast, Loosen the banjo bolt instead of the bleeder the first couple of times. Have lotsa rags on hand..
