Fuel consumption is fine. engine oil mixes with fuel then splashes out while driving. oil consumption is high.
Need more input here iam afraid ,like make and model and where the leak is if the fuel is mixing with oil do not drive it could hydraulic or even worse run away with itself and just run till it blows up ,once it goes turning the key off will not stop the engine it will run on the sump oil mix and watch a con rod come through the block

it can be some reasons mybe cylinder head, inlet valve worn out.
it can be cuporator valve releasing more petrol into the inlet.
Brakes it can be. check contacpoint.

sounds like you have a problem with the head or head gasket.Pulled out the spark plugs and see if you have any showing signs of leakage from head/gasket.

yes it can mix, also check the timing cover for rubs from the timing chain. this is the common problem with 22r. many mechanics will tell you its the block but they are just trying to make money.

You need to install an electric fuel pump to lift the fuel from the tank to the mechanical pump. You can turn off the electric pump after starting or use it when bleeding the lines after changing the fuel filter. You can start the truck after a few minutes instead of a few days. I know from experience and fought that problem for years.
