SOURCE: I HAVE A TORO SP

It sounds like the cable still needs more adjustment. The cable needs to be tighter. This is going to be hard to explain by typing. But I will give it a try. When you pull the handle in about 1/2 way mark the place where the lever on the drive motor is at. And take the cable loose and reattach the cable back to the mark that you made previously. So when the bar is released, it is like it is pulled in half way now. I hope that this makes sense. Let me know if I need to try to explain more.

SOURCE: My parents have a self

Does the mower die right away (cuts out) or does it sputter to a halt. Sputtering out would indicate a fuel problem. If it just cuts out when hot, then more likely an ignition problem. Your coil may need replacing. Take a close look at the coil wire (spark plug wire) and its routing. Make sure it's not touching part of the engine where it's heating up and has caused a "leak" to ground it out when it gets hot. If all is well then check your spark when the engine is hot and cuts out. Make sure you have a very good blue spark and not a weak one (check it cold first and then compare!). Again, indicating a possible ignition coil problem. Hope this helps and best of luck to you.

I have this same problem on my 36 in toro pro line sfs i ohmed the clutch the wire the safety switches and the PTO engagement switch all checked out good if u find any thing let me know the clutch its a adjustable clutch and its supposed to be set at .018 at all three springs there will b a slot that's where u check that but. U can get a multimeter and test the clutch by putting it on ohms and hooking up on both sided of the plug once u have unplugged it.the clutch should ohm out at like .003 or .004 max if more the clutch is shorted out

My toro walk behind self propelled blade disengages how do I adjust it

No adjustment, ensure no obstruction on drive end of cable, replace cable, probably stretched over time.

TORO Model 20016 6.5 hp GTS Engine pull cord is stuck and won't pull out more than 5 inches

Did you check under the deck for clogs? If its not clogged, DISCONNECT the spark plug wire, and try to turn the blade by hand... Oh yeah, did I mention DISCONNECT the sparkplug wire FIRST! If the blade won't budge, you might have a seized engine. If the blade does move, the problem is in the starter recoil. Rewind the starter string, and check the spring for damage. Good luck!

I have white zero turn 54" lawn mower. The engine runs but the blades won't turn on. Please any advise will help

This is a belt adjustment problem. You machines belt has either broken, or is loose to the point where it won't engage the blades at all, or has just slipped off the pulley. I believe the belts are on top of the deck covered by removable covers that are bolted to the deck. Check and see. GOOD LUCK.

Blade not engaging

The blade will spin automatically when the motor runs because it is connected to the main shaft. If it is not cutting, it will have to be removed and sharpened with a grinding wheel
