I had to replace both fork assemblies on my 2007 fat boy. the manual says they should "slide" out and new ones slide in. Not so??

FIRST remove the front wheel and brake caliper.

SECOND remove the front fender

THIRD remove the slider tube cap, spacer and oil seal from the top of one fork side.

FOURTH loosen the pinch bolt and pull the fork side from the brackets.

FIFTH repeat Steps 3 and 4 for the other fork side.

The front forks on my 2000 harley davidson fatboy are too soft how do i stiffin them up a little

When was the last time the fork oil was changed? Has there been any leaks? Loss of oil will cause the forks to go soft.

2001 harley davidson fat boy fork seals leak

Either the seals were not installed correctly or your tubes and sliders are excessively worn. Not changing the fork oil at recommended intervals will cause excessive wear. Overfilling the forks will cause leaks too.
