3/4 of a quart or bottle of primary chaincase fluid or change to 20/50 synthetic and dont worry about changing it for about 6000 miles the oil can be put in by removeing either cover hope this helps

Hi Anonymous, first check your engine breathing system to make sure it isn't block or restricted causing the crankcase to pressurize. If ok replace engine case main seal. Good luck

Can you use noble one 20/50 synthetic oil in Harley primary case

Hi Anonymous, Mobil 1 is is designed for water cooled engines and contains additives designed for your automobile motor. HD SYN 3 has additives designed for your clutch plates and a motorcyle which has an air cooled engine. If you were getting a blood transfusion would you want it from an immediate family member or some stranger? Good luck.

2002 Road King FLHR CI, Is Lucas Full Synthetic 20W-50 Recommended for ALL compartments?

You should only run HD Primary Chain Oil in that primary case and nothing else.
Synthetics are never good in harleys since they are ball bearing motors and Synthetics tend to be to slippery making the bearings skate instead of roll.

I have a 98 Harley road king and it seems to be sucking the primary oil into the engine oil. After a 40 mile trip there is virtually no oil left in the Primary but the engine oil is way over its max limit....

Hi Simon, yes the crank seal has failed, extremely rare, could have been accidently installed backwards from the factory, the engine while running has negative pressure in crankcase not much but enough to suck your primary dry. Sorry

Oil weight for primary and transmission on 2003 Road King

You could get away with it for awhile, but I would only use oil formulated for the primary chain case, and for that part of the machine, I stick with Harley brand, dont forget , u got clutch plates in there u dont want slipping. For the tranny you wanna use a good grade gear oil (75W-90, 75W-110,75W-140, SAE 190 & SAE 250) .... it'll better handle the torque requirements. I use Redline Gear Oil and shifting has improved noticeably
