Question about 2007 Ducati Monster S2R 800

Oil Light Hi, I own a 2005 S2R 800 and was recently went to an out of town trip with my friends on the way to our destination i had no problems but on our way back it rained hard. Going up the mountain my temp was reading 85 degrees, going back while it was raining, my temp indicator was LO'. Then suddenly the oil pressure indicator lightened up. It seems that the light turns off when its warmer. I was wondering whether there's a problem.

Don't give it a second thought. This has happened to me before, as well as a fellow with a MultiStrada. What's happening is simple: water in getting into the oil pressure sender switch and shorting it out. On my M750 the wiring runs vertically into it, giving water a clear shot. If it bugs you, dab a little clear silicone sealer around the wire's entrance. Or you could take the lazy man's way out: ignore it. The next day after everything has dried out it'll be back to normal.

Digital dash problem


Hi, Martin the following applies to carbureted also fuel injected models and the usual suspects are:

1. Severely discharged or a damaged battery, 9 volts or lower.

2. Failed alternator/generator and or voltage regulator.

3. Loose or corroded battery terminals and or cables especially the "NEGATIVE" cable, look for loose, corroded, or broken connectors inside the cable harness at "BOTH" ends.

4. Failed main circuit breaker or ignition switch, check for loose connections and continuity.

5. Failed system and or ignition relay, check for continuity.

6. Failed ignition coil, ignition/electronic module.

7. Failed CKP, CPS, CMP, MAP, TPS, or BAS sensor, corroded, loose or broken wire connector pins/sockets.

8. Throttle cables and or idle speed improperly adjusted hot idle speed should be 950 RPM to 1000 RPM.

9. Air/fuel mixture screw improperly adjusted.

10. Water or dirt in the fuel system, carburetor or filter.

11. Restricted, blocked or kinked fuel line.

12. Fuel tank empty.

13. Gas cap is not venting properly or fuel tank venting system blocked.

14. A failed fuel pump, pressure regulator and or fuel injectors.

15. Vacuum line from intake manifold to petcock broken, cracked, or not attached, carburetor vent line plugged.

16. Needle and seat stuck closed in the float bowl.

sounds like worn or broken clutch plates. if your clutch is good, then i just needs adjustment.

A couple of potentials here: -water in the fusebox -water in the ignition switch -corrosion or bad contact at the starter -blown fuse due to water intrusion I lost a fuse myself on a cross country trip in a heavy rain storm. I lost the ignition and fuel pump fuse at 75 MPH is a blinding 38 degree rainstorm across Nebraska. My solution was blow it out the best I could, install one of my spares, and parked her inside the hotel lobby for 8 hours to let her warm up and dry out. If you find water in any major contacts or fuseboxes, get an air gun on a compressor and blow them out WELL before installing a new fuse, or you're back in the same boat. ECU Question for a Monster s2r 800


I'm pretty sure the multi was never an 800. Def cause for a lot of problems. You could bandaid fix the situation w/ a custom dyno-tuned pc3, starting w/ a map from a multi.. It would end up costing you around $500-600 all said and done. perhaps it's time for a DP ECU specific to the S2R 800. good luck
