is the battery fully charged and has been tested for no dead cells? check for voltage at soleniod with key on, if ok jump posts on solenoid to engage starter motor, if starter spins, the solenoid is bad. hope this helps
I just had the same problem 2004 gsxr 750. After massive troubleshooting and time I found out it was the gauge. So I then ebayed a gauge on ebay and bought on for 290 dollars. Speedo now works. I am just off on the actual speed, need to by a speedo healer.
it's located on the front sprocket cover held on by a 4mm allen key bolt. if yor sensor is good, there is a part called the speed rotor that could be bad. the speed rotor is the plate on top of the front sprocket that sends the signal to the speed sensor.
I did some searching and here is a link that might help you get what you need. These are some GSXR 250 manuals. http://www.amazon.com/s/ref=nb_ss_gw?url=search-alias%3Dstripbooks&field-keywords=1989+Suzuki+GSX-R+250+Motorcycle+repair+manual&x=13&y=19
Just copy the link and you will see what I was able to find. Best of luck. If this is not what you are looking for and Robotec does not find what you need let me know because I have a friend that works for the Suzuki R&D department and I can ask him if he can get the OEM manual for you.
