Clean the whole chain. Make sure to wipe off as much kerosene as you can before you spray the wax on it. You don't need to spray on too much...just spin the chain around once while you spray and then let it set up for 15 minutes or so. How often? If it looks dirty, clean it. Every 500 to 1K miles depending on your riding conditions. Job should take you 20 minutes or so from start to finish including the set up time..

Hi,
a 6ya expert can help you resolve that issue over the phone in a minute or two.
best thing about this new service is that you are never placed on hold and get to talk to real repairmen in the US.
the service is completely free and covers almost anything you can think of (from cars to computers, handyman, and even drones).
click here to download the app (for users in the US for now) and get all the help you need.
goodluck!

How does cold wax work? Im thinking of doing waxing at home for myself but I dont want to get busy with the heating wax etc.

Cold wax is similar to hot wax in its method. Strips are coated with wax or a sugar based type substance. A paper is peeled back when you are ready to use and the sticky strips are then pressed on the skin in the direction of hair growth, but pulled off in the opposite direction.

It's much easier than heating wax at home, but is not as cost effective.

Researching Your Model. The Rollers are Chain Driven, but this Planer is a V-Belt Drive. Any slippage of Your Belt? Are the Chains Loose?? (there's a Drive Chain on one Side, and a Driven Chain on the Other Ends of the Feed Rollers) Never Hurts to apply a "Light" Coat of Chain Lube to these Parts(Gears & Chains)
DO NOT SAND THE ROLLERS!! Cleaning them with Denatured Alcohol is OK ( I prefer Brake Parts Spray Cleaner Myself)...the Planer Knife Head & the Front & Rear Rollers all work together as a Unit.
What Thickness are You Trying to Remove?? Usually I don't like removing More than 1/32" per pass...

Most are spray mate, but I have used chainsaw oil in the past, its very good, easy to clean off if it flings and I just used to put it on the chain with an old paint brush.
