I think the speedo runs via the gear box electrics etc... to ensure u do the right thing i would recomend speaking to a suzuki dealer that you trust

I need to change the speedo from kilometers to miles. Can't find my owners book.

[*]Set your odometer to "Odometer" and not a trip meter.
[*]Press the "SEL" button for 2 seconds to switch between KMH and MPH

This only works on the US models.. UK too.. most Canadian models do not have this function.

Nice bike!

Best of luck.

has the bike been stood for a while>...if so sounds like pilot jets have some muck/.dirt in them...you need to clean carbs & take jets out to make sure there are clear..(holes up middle of them are clear of obstructions!!)

Speedo on a 1995 bandit stopped working

If your speedometer works by a cable coming from the front wheel, remove it at the speedometer head bottom, spin the front wheel to see if the inner cable turns, if it does, the speedometer head assembly is bad.

Speedo stopped working

Has your speed sender become damaged?
Inspect it to see if it has any physical marks on it that shows something has been abrading on it; Also check that the rotor is still securely attached to the output shaft where primary sprocket is mounted.

How good is this bike for long tours?

The bandit 600 would be great for the twists and turns on european roads, but I suspect it might be to uncomfortable for long distances. It's not a touring motorcycle, and it's suspension is a bit stiff to run on long distances.
