Remove, shorten, replace. Do not just remove. Or, there is a pre-shortened (invisable) aftermarket splash guard available. It's a quite simple operation but do not attempt any modifications or repair w/o a shop manual. I've had very good luck obtaing shop manuals by typing in the search box of Suzuki Bandit 600/1200 shop manual repair manual

Best way to replace stock hoses on the back side of the oil bag on a 2003 heritage softail ,remove fender ,seat battery???

I think the lower part of the rear fender will come off. On the earlier models it would. It's called a "mud guard" or "splash guard". Of course, you'll have to remove the rear wheel to get to the screws.

Good Luck

On most Softails, the starter relay is on the lower part of the rear fender on the front side, right behind the transmission. A one inch cube riveted to the splash guard of the rear fender.

Good Luck

Bike: 1993 HD FatBoy probelm: it won't start. changed new battery, still won't start

If you hear anything when you push the start button, your starter relay is probably bad. It's located on the splash guard in front of the rear wheel. It's a plastic cube like device riveted to the splash guard.

Good Luck
