Question about 2001 Suzuki Epicuro

1 Answer

Epicuro Hello I have a suzuki epicuro 'V' reg 1998 and having problems with it cutting out at iregular interval. It happens just as I am about to pull off from a junction or try to open the throttle from a stand still, sometimes slowing down to a stop and then trying to pull off the scooter just stops. If there is any body out there that can help me with this problem I would be eternally gratfull. Because I have brought the bike back to the dealers on several occasion and they cannot seem to find the problem. I need help !

I have a reoccurring fuel blockage problem with my Suzuki Epicuro (2006?), which seems to occur within a day of filling the tank. I have had it 'repaired' on several occasion but it does not seem to last. The bike will go fine, then all of a sudden it will cut out. Sometimes, after vigorous shaking, the blockages 'disappears' and I can restart the bike, optherwise I am pushing it back home or to the nearest service station. Any easy step-by-step instructions on how to clear the blockage (I am unable to currently start the bike due to a blockage), and ideally stop it from happening again would be very warmly received! PS I don't know much about engines, hence the need for easy to follow instructions. Thanks a million!

Make sure that there is no sludge or rust in the fuel tank and that there is good flow to the carburetor. Pull the gas line fron the carburetor and check the flow of fuel. Remove and dismanthe the carburetor. Run a small copper wire through all jets and passages. Make sure that the throttle slide is free and that the enrichment (choke) valve seats properly.

Check on the backside of the differential for a drain plug. If one is on the lower part, then the one above it will be for refilling the unit.

Hi, my 2003 suzuki epicuro has top speed problem. It only reaches top speed of 70 km/hr. During its top speed, the engine was like choking or like a car that has speed limiter that achieve it top speed....

If it is the original exhaust system, I suspect a blockage, causing excessive back pressure causing lack of performance.
It may be the carb has a blocked choke?
Hope this helps.

Engine problems

Have you noticed whether this happens more often when the scooter hasn't got as much fuel in the tank? (e.g. sloshed around so not enough is getting through the pipe) Next time you fill up, put a Fuel additive such as Redex in the tank with it.... and maybe also put something like Slick 50 in with the Engine oil, then see what happens from there.
