I got a 06 dr and i use it everyday around 80kms to work and back plus weekends. i always get over 200kms on it and thats highway and traffic all day... u can push 220 to 230kms and i only use the high octane fuel..

should be an adjuster on the rear shocks ... turn the top portion.

I do not no how many turns out on the air screw on my 1993 suzuki 650 dr

turn it all the way down, then one screw up, start the bike and turn up the screw, or back until you get the best idle

I am told by mechanics that the two engines have many parts in common. Too many to list was the reply I got. I am not sure which parts are NOT the same though(?) Try comparing microfiches at OEM parts dealers online. A comparison of Suzuki part numbers will help. Note: the DR650 has a chain final drive, the LS650 is belt driven, so at least some of them are NOT identical. Hope this helps!
