Question about 2001 Suzuki Burgman 250
I have a Suzuki Burgman 250 which I got a few weeks ago off a chap that didnt have it long I was told by the owner that the parking brake isnt working. Could you tell me if the parking brake on a only works at set times I.E hill parking or only when using side stand Im just thinking there maybe a trick to it I not getting. I have also noticed that under the dust covers on the forks there seems to be alot of rust ,Could someone tell whats under the dust covers that could rust,Forks them selfs are very clean / no oil leaks.
The parking brake probably just requires adjustement - do you have a handbook? On the fork seal rust issue - it may be worth dropping the forks out, draining out wahtever oil and water is in there and giving it a good optical ****. You need to examine the surface finish in way of the seal and working area. On reassemble you will need new seals and oil.
