Question about 2003 Suzuki AN 400 Burgman

2 Answers

Trunk lid I have a 2003 Burgman 400 cc Scooter. I am having problems getting the trunk release to work properly. I turn the key and press in as directed but the trunk does not open. I sometimes have to hit the back of the seat several times for the lid to pop. It is becoming very frustrating. Any solutions.

I tend to spray the mech with wd40 and work the key while spraying. (also spray a little into the key hole) it sounds like its rusting up, the lock on mine was stiff when I first got the scooter but now with regular use and spray oil its OK.

Burgman 400 trunk seat won't open, how can i get it open?

If the storage area is full you may need to press the rear of the seat down (a fair amount of pressure may be needed) and turn the key at the same time. I suppose that pressure on the cable could cause a trapped lock. This would need someone to fiddle the cable.

I hope this helps.

Whats the correct tyre pressure for my 2001 suzuki burgman an 400 also if by chance i had put 4 bar in the tyre by mistake but only had the scooter on the centre stand have i done any harm

Hi, a 1999-2003 suzuki burgman /an 400 using standard tyre sizes 110/90-13 front is 1'75 bar (25psi)
130/70-13 rear is. 2 bar-(29psi) and 2.8 bar (41psi when carrying a passenger) check the tyre for correct seating on the rim, dont think you have done any harm, the only danger inflating small tyres to a high pressure is you risk blowing it off the rim, as you have now corrected it you should be ok with that, paul

I HAVE A 2008 SUZUKI BURGMAN AN400.AND NOT A 2003........ HOW DO YOU GET TO TAIL LIGHT AND BRAke LIGHTS WITHOUT HAVING TO TAKE HALF OF TH SCOOTER APART

Remove up and lower plastic cover, on the back of the bike. Just give them a pull, toward the back of the bike. They are just fixed with plastic clips.
It's very easy and handy. For the light bulbs they come off with a quarter twist. :)

How to replace brake light bulb on burgman 400

On the earlier models there are two self tapping screws with x heads on the underside lip of the rear section you undo these and the rear panel lifts up and out on 2 plastic hooks built into the panel. (it feels like its not going to come off at times) you can then get to the bulbs I would replace both at the same time as the other one will go in a short time as the odds are they were fitted at the same time in the first place.
