Bike won't start, new Harley battery, and starter bike 2006 FLHX Street Glide, all I get is a clicking noise from solenoid under seat

I'm not too familiar with the later model bikes but if I were getting a clicking noise under the seat and the bike was not starting, I'd investigate the source of the noise. It's possible that it is a starter relay that engages the solenoid that is an integral part of the starter. Look at the starter from the right hand side of your bike. You'll see a single small wire that connects to the end of the starter just above the end plate of the solenoid. Disconnect this wire and connect a test light or volt meter to the wire. Turn on your ignition switch and press the start button. You should hear the click under the seat and see voltage at the end of that wire. If not, replace the relay, a plastic cube about an inch in dimension.

Good Luck

On the rear fender behind the oil tank is some kind of electrical unit which seems to be stopping the bike from starting unless i wiggle this unit about dont know what this is any ideas please

Well, you're description is kind of vague. If it's a cube shaped thing about an inch in dimension, it's probably the starter relay. If its bigger than that and your bike is fuel injected, it's probably the ECM.

If you think it's a starter relay, just unplug it and get a new one and plug it in. They make one that has a "shield" on it to help make it more resistant to water intrusion.

I need to know how long the stand?

Lean bike as close as vertical as you can with throttle side against a wall. Let bike rest normally on suspension and place a housebrick or 3 inch (75mm) block 12 inches (300mm) away from sidestand mounting point. Measure the distance from this mouint point to top of block. This is the optimum length. Use frame quality tubing and solid steel lugs. Check return space along swingarm also. Cheers.

I have a Harley FXST 1990 and an exhaust mounting bracket

If you're talking about the muffler bracket back near the swingarm, these brackets are not that expensive and are available from either a dealer or aftermarket. V-Twin carries aftermarket parts for your bike. You can find the parts and order them online. I have no idea as to where you could get dimensions for the standard bracket.

Rear exhaust gasket bolt gone

When you receive your replacement bolt, safetywire (lockwire) that clamp together. They should have bolts that size at your local hardware store if you don't feel like waiting. Someone on here might know the dimensions of the bolt.
