Question about 1997 Triumph Trident 750

1 Answer

Elictrical problems Here is a problem I haven't yet been able to find in any of the many threads I have looked at so far. Wonder if anyone can help. I have a 96 trident. Bike starts and idles ok, but as you slowly increase the revs the lights start to flicker and the engine starts to surge slightly. Have tried replacing the regulator, made no difference. Voltmeter on battery reads ok. Mechanic thinks it might be a bad electrical connection but reckons it could be very difficult to find, he hasn't had a go at it yet as he is booked out for the next couple of weeks. Has anyone got any clues? Thanks in advance.

Looking for battery box bolts for a 99 suzuki intruder 800 but i cant find the thread size anywhere anyone know the size bolts to replace

6 X 1.0 is the size you need. (6mm X 1.0 threads per mm.)
The length of the bolts are probably about 12mm but I'm not sure.

I have a Harley Davidson 2000 Night Train. What is the thread size of the transmission drain plug?

The primary is a 1/8th inch pipe thread, they seem to strip out on a regular basis. Not sure if it's the same on the tranny, you could match them to see if you had to, i reckon. I haven't had to keensert one of those yet.

Having problems undoing front sprocket ! Would it be left-hand thread Also cant get socket on very far do i need a special socket as its got two different sizes 27mm on first part of nut and 32mm on rear...

There should be a bent washer over the nut to stop it from turning. Have a good look.
Flatten the bent washer with a flat cold chisel, gently, as you need it again! Put the bike in top gear to hold the sprocket and use a spanner 27mm to undo the nut. It is a clockwise thread.
When you put a sprocket back on, don't forget the bent washer and a drop of Loctite Threadlock will help to hold it on.
