Question about 2007 Triumph Speed triple

Ever go camping with a speedy?

Tis the season. Things are starting to cool off, bugs are going away, and the colors are changing. I'm planning a three-day camping trip to Indy. Any adventure speed triple riders? post pics of your bike loaded with your gear! I'm leaving for the trip this Friday, and I'm still not exactly sure how i'm going to load up. I've got the triumph tail bag, but that's not a lot of room. So, I imagine i'll be strapping things like the tent, sleeping pad, chair, etc to the bag or bike itself. Just lookin for pics/ideas/advice. I'll be sure to post pics of my own setup once its all put together. Thanks!

Couldn't find an image fulled loaded Triumph fabric saddle bags I bought off the classified section on this site Then I basically bungee sleeping pad and sleeping bag across the bags and pass seat. The bags and seat basically make a flat platform that is easy to stack stuff on. Bungee net is your friend. I did a 3 day 1000+ mile trip thru the CA Sierras this summer and Speedy toured very well.

Tip

Changing fragrance acocrding to the season

I suggest changing your fragrance depending upon the season. In other words, go for lighter scents during the hotter weather and keep the stronger scents for the drier, cool weather. Heat intensifies the scent, so there is no need to douse yourself in a heavy scent during the summer. And if you are outdoors, be aware that bees, wasps, hornets, and other flying bugs are attracted to flowery fragrances (which is another good reason to stick to light, clean scents!)

I'm looking for a water tank that we can use when we go camping. Any suggestions?

Yes - take a look at the Camping Bug site for a good range of water tanks. It really depends what you exact needs are; do you camp for a long time? are you a large group? do you camp in remote areas?
you can probably send them a question and they will advise you.

Is it ok to bring deodorant with me on a camping trip?

You should avoid bringing things like deodorants and hairsprays with you on camping trips. The odor of these items will attract bugs.

Overheating

Ok, to review, it got hot climbing a mountain, and stayed cool going down the same mountain ?
Make sure the mechanic did replace the thermostat, and have somebody check the fan clutch. An exhaust restriction could also cause it to run hot under a load.
There is a small chance the water pump impeller is shot inside the water pump and not pushing the coolant thru the system.

I got out my old camping stove a colemans dual fuel I used to put in petrol but I cant remember how to use and I am giving all my camping things away, what does the dual fuel mean. I would love to get it...

The old Coleman Camp Stoves used White Gasoline or petrol. However, that is no longer approved and has been banned as a safety issue for some years now. With that said, you have a real antique and if it's in decent condition, is worth some money to collectors of old camping equipment. You may want to rethink giving it away (because, it can't be used as a camp stove any longer) and sell it to an antique dealer or collector.

I hope this helped you and thanks for choosing FixYa.

2006 dodge stratus heater wont stay hot unless moving new thermostat started after speedy lube oil change and engine clean

check coolant level in radiator with the engine cool...(take radiator cap off) speedy should have flushed the system for you, might be some crud blocking the heater mech. but most likely low on coolant....good luck to you

Car's overheating

Check to see if your radiator fans are working. If you have A/C just turn it on and both fans WILL come on unless there is a problem ie: bad fuse(s), relay(s), or motor(s). I don't mean to scare you, but, someone "could" have a pretty bad head gasket leak and still not see fluid come out of the exhaust. If the fans are both working, it could be any number of things from, a faulty coolant temp sensor, a faulty dash gauge, possible air bubble in the cooling system. Another easy check is coolant consumption, if you are leaking coolant into the cylinder while engine is running and/or into the crank case. Just check to see if your coolant level is going down and/or your oil level isn't growing because of coolant filling up your crank case. Hope this info helps...(subytech)...

There's no bugs in my Animal Crossing City Folk

The bugs that appear depend on the season. There are naturally more that appear in the summer months. Time of day, trees, and flowers can affect the type of bugs you attract so it's best to have a variety and check in throughout the day.
