Question about 2007 Triumph Speed triple

Ever go camping with a speedy?

Tis the season. Things are starting to cool off, bugs are going away, and the colors are changing. I'm planning a three-day camping trip to Indy. Any adventure speed triple riders? post pics of your bike loaded with your gear! I'm leaving for the trip this Friday, and I'm still not exactly sure how i'm going to load up. I've got the triumph tail bag, but that's not a lot of room. So, I imagine i'll be strapping things like the tent, sleeping pad, chair, etc to the bag or bike itself. Just lookin for pics/ideas/advice. I'll be sure to post pics of my own setup once its all put together. Thanks!

Couldn't find an image fulled loaded Triumph fabric saddle bags I bought off the classified section on this site Then I basically bungee sleeping pad and sleeping bag across the bags and pass seat. The bags and seat basically make a flat platform that is easy to stack stuff on. Bungee net is your friend. I did a 3 day 1000+ mile trip thru the CA Sierras this summer and Speedy toured very well.

Replace the clutch. you can't clean the friction plates as the oil will have been absorbed into the linings. You only need to replace the friction plates.

After getting bike ready for season.the rear jug wasnt getting spark.so i replaced coild thinking it went bad.nope?.although after kepping it running for a period of time.it cleared up and ran on both...

I'd replace the plug first.
If that isn't the issue, I'd go over the entire ignition system from top to bottom.
When yu changed the coil, did you also change the plug wire? sometimes they can crack, and they will arc to ground, so that the plug gets no spark....until the wire warms up and the crack in it closes enough that it doesn't arc anymore.

I have a 1998 Dayton t595 which is the same as the 1999 955i, it seems to be overheating eventhough I drained the coolant and replaced it. Could the thermostat be faulty. And also the fan kicks in when its...

The fan will run sometimes after you have shut off the engine. It does this to finish the cool down cycle. Yes the thermostat could be faulty did you experience the overheating before you changed the coolant or is this something that has happened after changing the coolant? With that in mind did you change/replace the coolant with an automotive type or the coolant meant for your motorcycle?
If you have replaced the coolant with automotive type I'd say that was your problem all coolants are not the same automotive types can actually jell in a motorcycle cooling system restricting any coolant flow. IF you have the correct coolant take a look at the fins in the rad, make sure they aren't full of bugs, mud or other road debris. I had a plastic bag get caught up in my rad what a mess getting that out of there. Anyway if all is clear your possibilities are as you say thermostat, rad cap or water pump. If the bike drips a little coolant or looses coolant then you have a water pump problem but normally there will be a wee drip or puddle under the pump after sitting and cooling down another thing and I don't want to alarm you is a leaking head gasket. If the head gasket is leaking you sometimes can see foam bubbles in the coolant when it running and the rad cap is off. Or it can show up in the oil or spark plugs. also if the head is leaking it'll turn the coolant a nasty looking dirty color that can look like melted butterscotch ice cream. There is a few things to look for. hope this was a help

G'Day

Thanks for coming to FixYa for advice with your problem. I will give you the best of my expertise to help you get it sorted out.

In short, yes you will have a carbie problem. Nothing to serious, it will be gummed up from being left with old gas in it. Petrol has a short shelf life. It starts to deteriorate almost straight away, and anything more than a couple of months old should be discarded if you want your machine to perform reliable with good performance.

Since you are able to get the bike to start, I would be putting some fuel additive in the fuel and see if you can clear the problem. there are many carbie/injector cleaner additives out there. I use Nulon, check with your local automotive supplier. The fact that it was performing badly befor estorage may mean there is some **** in either the pilot or idle side of the carb. Spraying carbie cleaner through the carb intake whilst the bike is running may also help.

Try these things first but if that fails, the best solution is to remove and stripdown the carb, and remove and clean all jets and pay particular attention to small passageways/openings. Use an aerosol carbie cleaner to assist you here, a compressor with air gun is also generally required. make sure you can see the carbie cleaner passing through these orifices and passageways. Letting things soak can also assist here.

Happy to talk to you further about your repairs. I have much experience in this field:) A testimonial and rating is a great reward for my advice to you is greatly appreciated. It makes helpijng out worthwhile and gives me a warm fuzzy feeling. Hope you get things sorted easily. Cheers mate

2005 crf250r trans oil and funny noise

The water pump seal is maybe gone. This would allow water into the trans.Get it checked and also that the bearing hasn,t spun in its location. This may cause the color change.Being a grey color,it may indicate aluminium in the oil. This may be the spun bearing turning in the housing. With what you wrote,I would get these things looked at.I hope this helps you
