Question about 2005 Triumph Speed Four

1 Answer

Noisy clutch Hello all, I recently became the proud owner of a 2003 S4 and love it . But I seem to have a fairly noisy clutch which seems to send the noise through to the top end of the engine, when I pull in the clutch lever the noise does seem to get softer considerably. Anything to worry about or does the S4 have a niosy clutch as normal? All gear changes are precise and smooth by the way, there isnt any clutch slip or rough changes.

I believe they all do that sir. Certainly mine does and has for the 10,000 miles I've put on it.

I have a 2003 Ducati 749. Brilliant bike that I bought a few months ago. It has a noisy crancase upon start-up. The noise dissapears when the clutch-lever is engaged.

Hi, Tom for this situation I would call my local dealer or reputable shop's service/parts department and inquire about any possible quick fix, answers, or parts inquiry. If necessary, transport your bike to the dealer or shop and have a professional technician take it for a test drive, if it is in running condition, and give you a written estimate of repairs and answer any specific questions you may have about your problem. Just had rear brakes replaced, also new part for up and down window action. And general maintenance(fluids, belts, oil, etc.) When I got car back, the engine seemed rougher and now has a tapping sound...

Sounds like it might be a lifter. Seems odd to happen right at an oil change. You can try dumping marvel mystery oil into the oil. (follow the instructions on the container) but a noisy lifter doesnt mean certain disaster. It may quiet down for you all by itself.

I have recently brought a 2000 r1150gs bmw, after riding for a while the clutch seems to make a knocking noise when the clutch lever is pulled in. is this normal or is there somthing more sinister going...

look at your clutch fluid - if its dirty you may have the the slave cylinder bearing giving up as this runs at engine revs in the fluid! An obscure fault but one that boiled my fluid a few times in Europe before it became a dealer job to rectify. Most dealers in this country wont have seen the fault as low temp low milage trips dont normaly cause a problem.

2003 Hyundai Tiburon making a weird noise

Hello mpolci...The 2003 Tiburon was sold to the public with a defective clutch, it failed due to warpage and bad pressure plate... among other things. There are MANY class action lawsuits. Did you resurface or replace the flywheel when the clutch was replaced? Did you go with an aftermarket clutch kit, or factory? Also the slave cylinder on the 03 was known to have a defective valve.
You can try checking the levels and bleeding the system and if you still have problems, then it could be a release bearing, a loose clutch pad, or a broken pressure plate spring....If the clutch is still under warranty, i would return it to the installer.
Good luck, i hope this helps...please rate me a fixya.
