Question about 2005 Triumph Speed Four

1 Answer

Noisy clutch Hello all, I recently became the proud owner of a 2003 S4 and love it . But I seem to have a fairly noisy clutch which seems to send the noise through to the top end of the engine, when I pull in the clutch lever the noise does seem to get softer considerably. Anything to worry about or does the S4 have a niosy clutch as normal? All gear changes are precise and smooth by the way, there isnt any clutch slip or rough changes.

I believe they all do that sir. Certainly mine does and has for the 10,000 miles I've put on it.

I have a 2003 Ducati 749. Brilliant bike that I bought a few months ago. It has a noisy crancase upon start-up. The noise dissapears when the clutch-lever is engaged.

Hi, Tom for this situation I would call my local dealer or reputable shop's service/parts department and inquire about any possible quick fix, answers, or parts inquiry. If necessary, transport your bike to the dealer or shop and have a professional technician take it for a test drive, if it is in running condition, and give you a written estimate of repairs and answer any specific questions you may have about your problem. I have recently brought a 2000 r1150gs bmw, after riding for a while the clutch seems to make a knocking noise when the clutch lever is pulled in. is this normal or is there somthing more sinister going...

look at your clutch fluid - if its dirty you may have the the slave cylinder bearing giving up as this runs at engine revs in the fluid! An obscure fault but one that boiled my fluid a few times in Europe before it became a dealer job to rectify. Most dealers in this country wont have seen the fault as low temp low milage trips dont normaly cause a problem.
