Question about 2007 Triumph Rocket III

Will not fire

I have a 2005 R3 purchased brand new in 2006 - and had to have back surgery a couple of days after I bought it. The bike has been ridden by myself or my brother around the block a few times every other week - and has less than 100 miles on it. I now have a clean bill of health - and now the bike won't start. It started up and was ridden 2 weeks ago. Now - it cranks just fine - all looks and sounds normal - just will not fire. I don't think the gas is bad - I did not keep a whole lot in it (maybe I should have). Ignition on - guages do what they do - kill switch in correct position - kick stand down - clutch in. Again - it turns over just fine - but will not fire. Any suggestions???

When you turn the key, do all of the little lights on the tach light up and stay lit before you try the starter ? I ask because my key-switch has become a little fickle this year. Sometimes when I turn the key, I can hear the electronics going through the pre-start sequence, but, only one little light on the tach comes on, and then I know that it's gonna act up a little. When that occurs, the engine will crank but will not start. Have to turn back the key and do a little jiggle and wiggle of the key on the tumblers while turning the key to get everything working

Aprilia mojito back fire on cold start

Hi Anonymous, if your bike has been idle for months or years and does not want to start you will have to deal with a few remedies:
1. Drain and flush fuel tank, google " how to clean a motorcycle gas tank" find a couple forums to view the different options available.
2. Remove your air cleaner and clean and re-oil per Mfg. specifications.
3. Remove carburetor disassemble and decontaminate with a carb dip or if you have EFI remove injectors and clean with carb spray and compressed air
4. Remove fuel valve and filter disassemble and clean as necessary, remove fuel lines and replace with new ones.
5. Replace spark plug with a new one and check for spark.

I have a 2006 softtail deluxe I have had it since it was brand new. I am a new rider have only had my license since 2006 needless to say I don't know that much about motorcycles. My husband on the other...

I would measure the battery voltage with the engine runnig at a fast tickover and then say 2000 revs. If it exceeds 14 volts it is cooking your battery. Replace the regulator.
Ride safe and enjoy.

Lost of one cylinder

We both cylinders firing before plug change? If they were, put a couple more brand new plugs in the engine. You must have a "bad" brand new plug, not uncommon these days of Chinese imports.

New battery will not start bike after a week. ridden daily

Check your brakelight wire and make sure switch is letting light go off. There is a power drain causing your battery to go dead. Also if you have any accesories make sure they don't use power when bike ignition is off. :)

Basicaly brand new cr25o mx bike wont start

Assuming you are using fresh gas. Check to see if gas is coming out of the line, if not blow back up into the tank and if that works there's dirt in the tank. Check the spark by removing the plug and kicking it over with the plug touching the engine, look for spark. If no spark, try a new plug, if still no spark, you have a stator problem. It wouldn't hurt to clean the air filter in any case. Good luck!

2006 Aprilia RS125 doesnt start

Hi .... Try switching the petrol off just prior to stopping the engine and start up again with the petrol OFF. There's enough petrol in the carb to start the bike. A good battery should show over 12 volts. Take the plugs out and give them a good clean or replace them. Is there a petrul pump fitted ? A two stroke needs to be ridden quite hard to maintain efficeincy, higher revs etc ........ let us know how you get on ?

Few questions from a new owner

and I absolutely love it (aside from the broken headlight!) but I was wondering what the deal was with the seeming variations of paint finishes on the Military bikes? Mine and many others that I see have the flat olive drab finish, while there are others that I see with a very glossy finish, and in some cases, pinstripes. What's the deal with the variances -- are the glossy finishes and pinstripes the result of custom modifications? Also -- huge problem while riding. I know she's a brand-new bike (only 25 miles) so there are probably some break-in kinks that need to be ridden out, but this bike dies on me all the time. Unless I'm CONSTANTLY giving the bike throttle, it'll just die. Whenever I go to stop at a stop sign and am in first gear, the moment that throttle is let go, the bike just dies. It seems like I have to constantly pull the throttle on the bike to keep her running, it just does NOT want to idle. Also been noticing some small problems in shifting -- never seems to shift as smooth as other bikes I've been on, and I'm not sure if this is because it's a brand-new bike, or just older technology -- I'm totally new to all of this so I'm really not sure. Any ideas?,The shifting gets smother within 1000 miles, I have 1300 miles and rarely have any false neutrals or as clunky shift problems any more. Like Scotty said give the throttle screw a turn to increase idle( should turn by hand located on the carburetor). I did have a loose carburetor to cylinder head(jug) rubber boot loosen on me and was leaking air making the idle rough on my bike .After I repositioned the boot back on and tighten the clamp at the carburetor I never had the problem return.,,,
