What can us Monza owners do? Mine desperately needs a new one. Are they the same as a Breva's? If they are where are the Factory obtaining them from for new build?I just had a butcher's at a parts list for newer small blocks and they have single row chaines... You could try Martin Hagermann at Guzzi Piu in Germany . He specialises in small blocks and got me some bits for the NTX that were not available anywhere else. There must be as many V50's and Monzas still around as the rest of the small blocs put together so someone somewhere has either got old stock or will find an alternative -hopefully !!!! A good reynolds industrial chain supplier could also help if there are any of those left in the UK.,,

I am have just purchased a cbr 600 ft and there is a slight rattle from the engine which a mechanic has told me is something to do with the cam chain tensioner. The last cam chain was put in about 12k ago...

They should last a bit longer than 12k, but wear in the guides can also make then rattle a litttle sooner. Sometimes the tensioner can wear premiturely
The bad news, the more it rattles, the more chance of damage, On some bikes I have seen the cam chain rattle through the side of the barrell until it leaves a hole and leaks oil, If the chain breaks, the pistons usually bend most of the valves.
Basic mechanical knowledge is also going to need the help of a manual. or at least mark the cams and take a few photos to reset the valve timing, or you next problem will be like many requests on this site"how do I set the valve timing"

Cam chain

That is an extremely difficult engine to work on regarding the chain. There is on thing you can try is to change the tensioner for the rear chain. You can access it from the passenger wheel well, it looks like a big nut from the outside. Get a new tensioner screw and replace it. if that dosent work you will have to remove either the engine or the transmission to gain access to the chain itself.

Timing chain replacement

What engine do you have? if it is a 4.0 V6 then there is a recall for new cam chain tensioners to address the noise issue.
