What can us Monza owners do? Mine desperately needs a new one. Are they the same as a Breva's? If they are where are the Factory obtaining them from for new build?I just had a butcher's at a parts list for newer small blocks and they have single row chaines... You could try Martin Hagermann at Guzzi Piu in Germany . He specialises in small blocks and got me some bits for the NTX that were not available anywhere else. There must be as many V50's and Monzas still around as the rest of the small blocs put together so someone somewhere has either got old stock or will find an alternative -hopefully !!!! A good reynolds industrial chain supplier could also help if there are any of those left in the UK.,,

Cam chain tightness? how too adjust?

The cam chain tensioner is an automatic device. When the chain wears past a certain point and the tensioner can no longer compensate for the slack, it must be replaced.
Failure to replace a slack / worn chain can have severe consequenses, even if the chain does not break.

I am have just purchased a cbr 600 ft and there is a slight rattle from the engine which a mechanic has told me is something to do with the cam chain tensioner. The last cam chain was put in about 12k ago...

They should last a bit longer than 12k, but wear in the guides can also make then rattle a litttle sooner. Sometimes the tensioner can wear premiturely
The bad news, the more it rattles, the more chance of damage, On some bikes I have seen the cam chain rattle through the side of the barrell until it leaves a hole and leaks oil, If the chain breaks, the pistons usually bend most of the valves.
Basic mechanical knowledge is also going to need the help of a manual. or at least mark the cams and take a few photos to reset the valve timing, or you next problem will be like many requests on this site"how do I set the valve timing"

Cam belt replacement schedule

Cam Chain, Have your dealer inspect it at 30k unless you hear that area being louder than normal sooner than that. You should upgrade to the new Hydraulic set up from Screaming Eagle if or when you do need service to your tensioners or chains. The New setup will upgrade you to '06 later Dyna '07 later FLH style cam tensioners. This or Gear Drive Cams (much more expensive) have longer lifespan and you get a beefy hp upgrade. *You MUST have this checked, think of this area like you would a cam belt on a car.*

what can us Monza owners do?
