On Page 34 under Engine Oil it says Check to see the oil is 1/4 below the bottom of the top hole on the dip stick. Which is correct?1/8 is correct. You are looking at an early version of the 2007 manual. We have already corrected that in Version 2. We do have a correction sheet available for your manual if you want one. Just call your dealer and ask for the 2007 Owners manual correction supplement.,

How much oil and what kind 1982 yamaha vision

It will take about 2 quarts. Don't you have a owners manual with your motorcycle?

Drain the oil, replace the plug, add one quart. check the dip stick, slowly continue to fill until you get to the proper level as indicated on the dip stick.

If you have not made friends with the guy or gal at the Yamaha Parts Department, you should go do that now. They will be a great source of information to you in the future.

Find and use your owners manual.

How much oil do I put in the motor of a 2005 Honda crf 230f

Is there no oil dip stick on your motorcycle??? I don't know what measuring system you use where you live, so I will talk in terms of the US standard quart. If you don't have an owners manual (look behind the side cover on the left hand side), start with one quart. With the bike on the level (i.e., not on the side stand) check the oil dip stick. Continue filling until you reach the proper level indicated on the dip stick. Do not over fill.

How much oil does the gearbox take

Probably one or one and one-half quarts. What ever it takes to indicate proper level on the dip stick. Do not over fill your motorcycle with oil.

2003 vulcan 750-how/where to check engine oil level / noisy

there should be a little window just below the oil fill area that says high and low, that's where you gauge the level of oil you have. it's not a dipstick, and not very precise, but that's it.

Oil Change to Honda CRF250r 2004

the engine has two seperate sides which require oil... your owners manual should break it down step by step, if you dont have one id advise strongly to get one, but if not the right side has a 8mm bolt, remove it with the bike in a perfectly vertical position... if oil comes out its full... along with the dipstick on the left side, its pretty self explanitory on how much, just dont put too much in or you could blow seals and you will lose a slight amount of power... both sides use the same oil so you dont have to worry about clutch oil and all that ****... just use motorcycle 10w 30 or whatever... strogly advise hondas line of oil specially tuned for honda engines. keep up on it and that engine will last longer than you expect. have fun and be safe.

Oil level above full line

It's quite possible that when you fill the motor you are checking the oil level shortly thereafter, i.e. within 10 minutes, or you are filling the oil and checking what the level is BEFORE starting the motor (in this case the oil has not had chance to circulate and drain back in to the sump). Once the bike stands for an extended period (a couple of hours or overnight) you will find that the oil has drained from the head of the motor, and other places, back into the sump and therefore shows at a higher level in the sight gauge.

Oil check

By now you've noticed it's not possible to sit on the bike and see the sightglass at the same time...get yourself an inspection mirror from Harbor Freight or anywhere that has tools. Get one with a handle that telescopes out. This way you can sit on the bike and use the mirror to see the sightglass. This will allow you to move the bike slightly off center and find the oil level. If it's covering the sightglass completely, it's too full. Black oil indicates a change badly needed and perhaps a filter that's not working properly. If it's still in breakin, then it's still under warranty. Get with your dealer..
