000km. ok so it has devloped a bad miss (similer to what they all do at 2800rpm) under 5grand not as bad over 4k rpm. I can hear the engine often back breathing and hissing and a heavy knock when back firing under slow excelaration the bike is back firing a lot not loud but wee crackels (after market pipes but not loud) sometime you get this with a leak in the pipes If it's knocking under load it almost sounds like it's detonating (which you wouldn't want to riding it too much if it's doing that,it's very hard on the engine components) and that makes me think that your timing sensor is playing up,which would also account for the engine spitting back down the intakes and back firing out the exhaust.I hadn't told you yet but I ended up buying both the Quota and NTX 750,reading the workshop manual for the Quota it looks a pretty simple job to diagnose problems like you have if you have the software,I don't have it yet so that doesn't help you out.Hampton Motors in Carmen RD are the new Guzzi agents here,get them to hook it up and the bikes computer should be able to let them know whats going on.,,,

i got a 01 yz 250 it wont stay running and it loses saprk it gets spark every once in a while so i got a new coil thinking it was that put it on and it started right up then died again i check spark there is no spark so i bought a cdi box and put it on and it still does the same thing i think its the stator but not sure any ideas thanks
